You may like to know that in the Catalan language, a rowing paddle is called "rem". I guess Marc chose the name "REM" because of this.

At the end of the video between Ricardo and Marc you can see one folded... right? Also on their kickstarter you can see how they fold it and transport it :)

Look at Ricardos at 11 minutes 06 seconds, it's completely folded when he sits down. Looks like a 25-30l backpack should do it.

Truly! I was thinking that it could be combined with freeskates too (JMKRIDE), or a Penny-sized skateboard. ~ 2 kg for the board(s) + ~ 5kg for the REM = only 7 kg. Carrying these in a medium-sized Duffel bag, backpack or bike pannier would make for a very portable last-mile solution to carry on trains etc. Probably only an electric mini skateboard can compete with this level of portability & mobility.

Compare time for gearing up including change of shoes with a brompton folding biketo determine usability. Not including the fact that skates have no brakes. Been there, done that, but its not for everybody and I for my part switched to team folding bike in my late 30s. Looks fun though

YO! I used to dream of having an electric ore for my skateboard. Then we got electric skateboards.... But dude, I'd rather ride my lighter shortboard and use one of these staffs than a normal remote. So cool, and so much possibility! Great job man, really impressed. The form is great, I can imagine all kinds of custom staffs!

It looks so much fun and the owner obviously has a lot of love and passion, but at a MSRP of €1200,- I think there is too much competition if you're looking for a semi-portable electric transportation solution. I really hope they succeed in the short-term with early adopters willing to pay that price and manage to bring the price down to around 300-500 euro for the masses.

I just saw an article on my Google feed about this. This is absolute genius! I’m 10000% on board with this idea and product! Its simplicity is what makes this such a fantastic idea. Electric skateboards are so heavy and clunky and you can only use them when they’re charged up. this still allows you to enjoy your skateboard its pure form while also giving you the option for quick and easy transportation without having to push with your feet. I’ll be contributing to the kickstarter for sure!!

Well, 30 years ago, there were those sticks with a motor and the design was pretty the same but better: the stick was inbetween your legs, one seat on the rear, to polstered sticks extenting on the front, resting on your legs. Worked really well! Probably ahead of its time..

Needs like a adjustable palm rest for the back hand. Should make it more ergonomic. And I wonder how an Omni wheel or a more oval shaped wheel would act. Or even more ridiculous go for a tread and then you could use it on snow.

That thing is outside every legal definition. I love it. You can probably use this legally everwhere you can skate as the stick is clearly not a vehicle.

They should definitely make it with regenerative braking. Holding it in front of you whilst going downhill to slow you down and at the same time charging the battery. That would be a game changer

Very cool sure it'd work amazing for skateboards and scooters too, which scooters have their own independent brake. I do wonder how heavy it is? could you carry it in a backpack for hours?

Cool! Would be great for commuting, but for fun...being able to throw your hands in order to shift your weight around is key for good times. I do like the product concept, but I just keep picturing how you wouls bail on that stick when you lose control and who know what or who it hits. I'm sure the speeds are impressive, but pushing yourself is best for your health. The perfect scenario I would see for this is to climb the hills when going speed skating. That being said, I am sure that if I actually had this to use, I would probably use it for all the speed it can give 😂. Congrats for the idea!

I see he figured out the go part, moves at a good clip. I see a problem with stopping though. I do not think most people are ready to brake hard going 30mph on rollerblades. I think its great

I feel like the twist handle isn’t as safe and effective as a trigger of some sort since you’re putting so much leverage on the stick.

I can hear that you have somehow flipped the phase on one of the stereo channels of the recorded audio. I guess there's nothing you can do about that now in this certain video, but it could be good to know for the next one 🙂 Btw, I used to live in Barcelona. I still miss it each and every day!

@@mstefanwalker3654 didn't even think of that, but everyone watching this video on a mono speaker would hear a whole lot of nothing! You'll hear the music (which is in-phase), but no dialogue at all.

Make it more stable (the beam itself less bendable) and then make it foldable, boom. World Changing. AAA Product. Maybe make a seat looking setup, where you can lean your buttocks on the beam too. Which makes it a lot more stable and controllable. And then also easier on the body and muscles to use
