As nice as this car is, early adopters of new technology nearly always lose out, both financially and in obsolescence. It reminds me of the Betamax vs VHS etc days. Technology moves so fast that whatever one buys today, it’s replacement is already only a few months away from being launched. I’m keeping my Outback in the meantime.

This looks awesome - maybe my Forrester will be my last petrol car. Any data on the range when towing say 2 ton of horse & trailer?
@oddities-whatnot2 жыл бұрын
If your Forester still does what you need it to do, dont even think about selling it. Thats where people are mugs these days trading in for another when nothing wrong with the car they already have. My old Impreza is a workhorse, still keeps going.

Think twice, once there is a lot of EVs good luck finding free charger. EVs are much easier to control by 3rd party increasing risk of a freedom loss which was a motto of a Subaru

Isn’t the range 220 miles, instead of the 288 stated in the video?

Maybe UK variant gets a slight bigger battery? Or just a typo on script 🤷🏻♂️

Different countries use different consumption / range test definition (EPA vs WLTP). It contains different amount / ratio of city and highway driving which is more representative for the target country and some other differences, I don't understand it much, but I know it's different. I think this is the reason for different values.

Poor whichever way you look at it.

Not great but for me I think it would be enough for 95 % of all drives, maybe 99 % when always having access to slow destination charger, but not for this price right now. The price difference would take really long to balance. I am just watching Subaru's electrification to know :)

This is just a rebounded Toyota, it is a sad thing to watch Subaru die, especially if you own a good, old school one. The death of petrol STI is a death of Subaru. It will be just a rebranded Toyota similar to a British Vauxhall- just a fricking Opel without an Umpf.😢

BRZ, WRX, WRX STI, Legacy, Levorg or anything even remotely interesting? Nah we won’t sell anything good to the uk let’s keep sending absolute travesties instead and sell a whopping 900~ cars. Legacy of Subaru down the drain I’d say.

No to EVERY electric car until they ditch ancient lithium ion batteries in a few years, and when they can charge to full at a service station in five minutes and give a 1000 mile range minimum guaranteed that doesn't drop when using electrics or touching the accelerator an extra millimetre. Its all bullshit dabbling with the tech at moment, people are such mugs for buying into this EV crap when its not fit for purpose for most people. Its a fashion trend, that's why people get them, to show off ooh look at me im trendy, ive got a better car than you, who gives shit what car you drive ? I dont get impressed by any cars on the road. People are show offs and attention seekers these days. Dreadful narcissists. Would you buy a new house with a leaking roof and be told, dont worry that's the best construction method we have at the moment until we can come up with a new design in ten years. NO. Fecking prats.

Test drive 15yo used Tesla, and wait in a huge queues to get it repaired by dealer only and you might change your mind back very fast. You might think they don't break down... you might be surprised how often
