This is the first iteration of a lightweight tool belt idea that has been on my mind for a very long time. Still in the testing and evaluation phase.

WOW! That’s a fantastic idea! Very nice. I too am 67 with not much hips and the disappearing Behind. Good times eh? On the Subject of Pancho Villa, I worked at a large wholesale Nursery in Central California for several years in the late 70s and mid eighties. There was an old guy there everyone knew as Shorty. His name was Tony Barillo. Spoke very little English but he worked crews in the fields and expected a lot. “Mova You Hands” was his favorite. At any rate he rode a Horse from Mexico to Visalia California in order to escape Pancho Villa in 1917. Pretty cool old man. I’m sure he’s been gone for many years now, but in his honor, don’t forget to MOVA YOU hands! Cheers. Love the tool belt. It’s genius.

This video made my day... I appreciated every bit of explanation about all the tools that a carpenter needs for his work, and I can see how time wasting/consuming it would be if you needed to look for or fetch a tool if they were not 'handy' on your body. And I can see that the first 2 belts you showed must have been heavy, but I couldn't imagine how light this one is even though it is smaller. Every time you added a tool onto the belt, I smiled and laughed, but when you finally added the screw gun, I lost it. And then you said the whole thing is light! I suppose comparatively. I appreciated this video immensely. Learned a lot.

Fantastic tool belt video sir! My tape measure would be clipped on @ center of chest on the bandolier, maybe on a metal band - not the leather loops. My hammer would be on a regular leather loop on my RH side down low. Love the clip on nail bag on the LH side!!

Hello again. I never spent much time with my ancient 4 pocket pouch on. I usually hung it in center of the project on a screw in a stud bay. However I always carry it bandoleer style to its next location. Your going to need that hammer as a companion for the set. Hope your finish nails don’t find a framing nail.

Very clever. I hardly ever wear a tool belt because I can find anything that is light weight and laid out for my needs. Might have to make one.

Very nice. One could make a double-bandolier version for serious capacity.

Carpendito over here, fastest saw in the west. I may make this in webbing with canvas and leather for the bottom pouch.

Clip your tape to one of the leather loops on the strap. That way you can grab it with your left hand, mark with your right.

Supporting weight with a sling style or a "bandolier" bag is a bad idea if you know ANYTHING about the negative effects uneven weight distribution has on the body. Even your example, Poncho Villa had 2 bandoliers, evenly spreading out the weight. As I've gotten older, I've acquired better and lighter tools, but learned that carrying less is more. In this example, interior finish work, there is no reason to carry that much stuff when you can wheel around a work cart. You do you, but I'll pass and stick with my belt and suspenders. ....and just wait until your pencil accidentally slips out of your gloves and cracks you in the face!

You make it seem like he's carrying 50 pounds of armor offset during a 3 month war march. At most this is 8 maybe 10 pounds, occasionally used. He could even make it symmetrical and switch it around every other day.
