Would love to see a roadmap from Aputure. We just saw the Amarans a few months ago, so I’m trying to understand the brand’s differentiations.

They mentioned it in the past that Amaran is the more affordable brand. It is designed more for content creators in mind while Aputure is designed more for High-end sets needs.

@@CreazyR0B0T Understood, but they just came out with T2C and T4C. If they release similar versions under the Aputure brand, I would want to understand the key differences.

@@dsdddsd4543we Honestly I am not getting the Amaran T2c and T4c.. it is not what I want.. I am more interested in the MT Pro though I wish they will introduce a 2ft and a 4ft as well. But knowing Aputure will probably not happening soon. The Amaran doesn’t have wireless CRMX if this is a feature you want.. also I believe the Amaran doesn’t have Pixel mapping while the MT Pro does.. and because the battery on the Amaran is external they weight less without the battery which is a nice feature.. but operating it with the battery grip makes the tube light longer and bulkier and the weight not evenly balanced.. but you could use the light without the battery if you can power the tube which makes it easier for rigging into fixture. The Aputure MT pro has non removable built-in battery but the design is more neat and elegant.. The MT pro has wider CCT range(2000k-10,000k) while the Amaran slightly less (2500k-7500k).. the MT Pro costs more money.. the MT Pro is a one foot light for $200 while the Amaran is twice the size but cost the same.

@@dsdddsd4543we T2C and T4C are wired, this is wireless (battery inside). Pixel density numbers not published on Amaran, but I suppose it will be a lower count. Higher brightness on the Amarans though, more than double in the case of the T4C. They'll probably put out a bigger MT Pro, it just makes sense. Maybe with the option to be externally powered too (2 hour battery is too low in my book).

I love these and I love Aputure. I have a lot of Aputure lights. But I have to say, a non-replaceable battery is both terrible for the environment and bad for professional sets. I really, really, really wish technology companies would be a bit more responsible with their battery integrations in their devices these days. Apple started this trend and while it's been good for design, durability and company profit, it is ultimately not a good one for customers and more importantly, the world. Was it not possible to incorporate a slide-out battery compartment, like the SGC lights have? I would have liked to see the Aputure pro tubes have replaceable batteries and maybe leave the non-replaceable battery devices to the Amaran line?

Why PRO camera comes with REMOVEABLE BATTERY? because it offer flexibility and fast battery swap on set. This MT Pro is not PRO light, with build in battery you can't hot swap quickly in the filed when needed, not to mention we need to set some sort of DIY power rig in the field when you need longer runtime. After few cycle of charging, battery will be loose it performance and needs to be replace, it will be much EASIER and CHEAPER to do with REMOVEABLE battery. I LOVE AND HAVE few aputure lights but i have to pass this MT Pro because not having real PRO feature ( removeable battery ). I hope you will make MkII of this light using removeable 21700 / 26650 li-ion battery, this would make this light real PRO and offer ease of use in the field in term of battery / power management

@@miki97xy Astera came from a stage lighting background and in my opinion, they underestimated the desire for a replaceable battery on a film set. Honestly, I find the Astera tubes to be really annoying. If you rig one up in a difficult position and then the battery goes out, you have to completely unmount it, switch it out, and then rerig the damn light again. It's not a perfect design by any means and I think demanding replaceable batteries in these sorts of devices is warranted and would be a welcome change.

@@miki97xy why 5V just use the included NPF Battery adapter. If you u are not new to filmmaking, u should have a couple of these batteries. ;)

You can also add a gold mount adapter and a dtap for better batteries.
