LotsOfPieces all the insteuments have documentation. mango pointed out that a tutorial would be helpful. and it would, that’s what tutorials are for. they are for making learning something easier than the dry, complex insteuctions can when you just want to het started or see a concept in practice with someone guiding you through it.

In a few years their customer base will fall flat. Reason isn’t made for 2018 or beyond. I’m a user since 2.5 and now I’m switching to Ableton.

I'm partly also a 'preset 'n tweak' kinda guy because i want to make music, not spend all my time only creating sounds so It's always nice to have dedicated devices ready to do your bidding. But look at the state of reason itself. It's really really far behind all other DAWs and customers have been begging for upgrades for ages and are not getting them. Sure, the sequencer just got a couple of updates but there is so much more to improve and we are slowly losing our faith in the props. Them releasing this WAY overpriced one-trick pony now is bad timing to say the least. We already have the feeling props just wants easy bucks nowadays and this unit adds to that feeling. So it's nice and all that you are happy with this umpf, but i think the majority wants to see the DAW itself getting some well deserved love. For me this unit feels a bit like a 'screw you, we don't care, give us money'. We want a modern DAW. Not some toys for it in 10 easy payments. I don't like this route props is taking.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Com Truise's early work was done in Reason 4 or 5, which definitely lacked a lot of the tools in Reason today. If he could achieve those sounds in an old version of Reason, I don't really see the point of a plugin like this. It's nice, I guess for people who don't know how to use drum machine samples (or actual drum machines), effects, and tape recorders to achieve these tones and textures. But for the majority who do, it's just a boring and gimmicky plugin.

I`m fully agree with you! By the way, I use both Reason as VST and Cherry Audio synthesizers in my production.

Bro I cannot have said it better... I've been using Reason since '06 and exactly like you said I cannot efficiently and creatively produce modern future bass/trap on Reason like on FL Studio or Ableton. I was extremely frustrated when I took the decision to switch to another DAW because I've been such a loyal customer to them (bought countless of REs too, that are completely useless today so I literally feel like I through my money away). I'm not asking for anything out of the ordinary. A built-in Recycle, a faster way to copy pattern to track (when you double-click to create that box in the sequencer for a device, instead of it being empty, make the box automatically have the patterns created in the rack, FL Studio style, waaay more efficient for finishing tracks much faster), better keyboard integration (use laptop keyboard as a drumpad or keyboard synth just like in FL Studio and Ableton), have a normal zoom and scroll system just like any DAW or even creation software (2-finger scroll, 2-finger zoom in/out), change the double-clicking system to add/remove notes to simply left click is add and right click is remove system and holding left/right click adds/removes several notes quickly, better modern FX (reverse, scratch, tempo-synced filter lfos, modern creative delays (like pitch feedback delays for ex)) , a tempo detection tool. Just that would make the DAW twice as better as it is today. For it to be perfect all they need to do after that is make it live-friendly. But I still have hopes because their relationship with their customers have improved overtime. They need to listen to modern music and they will realize by themselves that they are way behind for young upcoming producers. Just like you, I'm going to stay on FL Studio until they up their game.

@@MellowXBrew Yeah I thought about that after I was looking at umpf. As far as I know it's just the compressor that doesn't translated after routing. I could be wrong I'll check.

For one major thing, there are added effects on this one which take up literal screen space not afforded to Umph Club Drums. So upgrade or crossgrade - we thought it was better to make dedicated units that are perfectly tailored to their musical styles. /ryan

That's why I love Reason so much. I can use VSTs, audio, Rack Extensions, the many built-in devices, analog hardware, digital hardware, sampled hardware, loops, and all the fun wiring! :)
