Wow. I took a very similar path that ended up with me at 620 lbs. During that time I tried vegetarian, vegan, and juicing. Discovered keto. I'm now 430 lbs and now am going towards carnivore. 210 lbs to go.

I think the most important thing you said in this entire video is that "results are addicting". That is what it's all about. At first you really need to push through and dig deep, but once you start rewarding yourself with better health, appearance, and overall feeling 100x better, it really becomes a lot easier.

Same to me at age 69. I was on track PRE PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN to reach my ideal weight via a Keto-ish WOE. But when the Lockdowns happened, stress and anxiety increased and in December of 2020 I went through a divorce and move. Thus, gained 50 pounds. I have been 100% carnivore since 2/15/22 and already have noticed blue jeans are fitting better and my mental fog has lifted. Good luck. Yes, I was a sugar holic and could eat a dozen bakery glazed chocolate covered donuts in one sitting. Good luck.

@@GBB70 Hi Mr. GBB70, I hope you see this, and reply. I love Laura's frankness, and yours too. I am 62, and have been doing Keto for 5 years intermittent fasting about the same. I have now found out my symptoms could be due to high of Oxalates, and need to start out a long journey of reducing veggies and slowly head my way towards Carnivore diet. Long journey because dumping Oxalates to fast can be dangerous to the body. I am like you, and can over indulge because I want that full feeling. I'm pretty good about staying away from the big no no's, and maintained my goal weight for all these years, but was wondering how do you feel being a long term carnivore eater after being old as dirt like me? My health rollercoaster has led me to the following conclusion: if weight loss is the goal, you will never get off the rollercoaster. If good health and feeling good is the goal, you can have a better relationship with food and stay stable. Being overweight is a symptom of poor health. Whether that poor health started from a physical or mental source, is irrelevant. Both are part of your health. When I stopped worrying about my weight and started thinking about how I felt, my quality of life, my life goals, food became less of an obsession and turned into a tool I could use to help heal my poor health. I will never be perfect, but I've come a long way by changing this 1 detail. Hope this helps someone out there, I sure could've used the advice 10 years ago.

I want to be your bestest friend and give you a BIG HUG. You (and I) were choking up a bit during several moments of your video. I have been Keto for just over one year and have lost 100 lbs. Still would like to lose a bit more, but started Keto to get my bio markers in order. I still cant believe I have not put sugar in my mouth for over one year. THAT is the biggest miracle to me. Like you, moderation does not work for me. I do better with all or nothing. I know if I put sugar in my mouth, it will be all over. I am starting to consider carnivore and fasting. Fasting, UUUGHHH! I am so done with living like this. So ready to learn more about this. I feel your pain when you say you have an inability to have a normal relationship with food.

Hi Laura. My wife, Debbie, and I watched. We love your demeanor and honesty. Debbie is not ready for carnivore, but I definitely am. She has never had weight or health issues. Neither of us have ever been on any meds, thankfully, and plan on keeping it that way. I am 66 and she is 62. I am 6ft tall, and 3 years ago, I went from 247 pounds to 184 on keto. I'm back up to 204 and have maintained that for some time, but I want to get back down to 180 or so again. I felt good there. Now my choice is carnivore, and I look forward to learning along with you. Thank you for taking the time to create this carnivore channel!

@@ryanwelsch9384 NOPE. I was a WFPB vegan for 11 years. I exercised regularly, slept adequately, drank plenty of water, made sure to eat enough calories, tracked my macros, ate plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, took B12 and vitamin D supplements, however, my health and well-being began to drastically decline the last 3 - 4 years of veganism. No matter what potential food allergen I tried to identify and remove, or what macro ratio I ate, blood work done, etc. etc. I just began to lose my vitality. Always fighting lethargy, terrible brain fog, powerfully tired in the mornings, hair began falling out, low libido, terrible erections, always puffy and chubby and inflamed looking in the face and torso. I’ve always lifted weights too and I could NEVER gain much strength or lean muscle as a vegan. One year ago I decided to reintroduce meat into my diet and I went on a meat based diet of salmon, beef, eggs and some occasional fruit. After only a few weeks, nearly all of these ailments began to reverse, and after a couple of months they were all completely gone. I’m lean and muscular for the first time in over a decade! Same workout routine. Actually, my workouts are less intense now than before, but I’m actually ripped and muscular which I never thought would be possible for my body! My face is lean and no longer puffy. My teeth are whiter and harder. My jaw line much more pronounced. My hair stopped failing out and began thickening. No more brain fog. I wake up feeling alert and refreshed. Mood is improved. Energy is steady and adequate. Incredible erections. Strong libido. I could go on and on… Point is I feel great. Whereas on the WFPB vegan diet I felt like I was slowly falling to pieces. . I used to be like you. I used to believe that everyone could be healthy on a plant based diet. However, it’s just not the case for me, and it’s not the case for most everyone in fact. I’ve never been more sure of something in my life as I am that my body requires meat to thrive. I used to talk just like you too. Using words like “animal parts and their secretions” thinking I’d blow someone’s mind with “reality” of what “beef” really is etc.. It’s all just vegan propaganda and brainwashing. The idea of veganism is fine as a personal choice, but it crosses the line when vegans attempt to say that other people or all people should or must be vegan when doing so would interfere with and damage their health and well-being. . I don’t care about studies, I don’t care about data, all I care about is the absolutely UNDENIABLE and miraculous physical and mental health improvements I’ve experienced since reintroducing meat into my diet a year ago and cutting out all plants besides occasional sweet ripe fruit. . Additionally, I eat primarily pasture raised grass fed beef (murdered dead cow parts) with a bit of pork (murdered dead pig parts) and some slaughtered dead chickens here and there. Which means I’m responsible for maybe around 10-15 deaths per year. The foods that the average vegan eats cause hundreds of millions of deaths per year via cropping and agricultural practices, and pesticides and mono-cropping is ruining the environment. Therefore, if you want to get into a pissing contest on ethics, my diet wins. . I will not be a martyr and allow my body to be destroyed from the inside out for mindless dumb animals. Quite frankly, I just don’t care about animals, ESPECIALLY when my well-being is hinged on my consuming their body parts in copious amounts. I care about humans and their health and well-being. I care about the progression of the human population. An overwhelming majority of us (probably 90% or higher) NEED to eat meat and animal products to thrive and be our best. Just deal with it.

People don’t realize that so many things turn into sugar even if you aren’t eating sugar. So many think fruit is really healthy and for many vegetables aren’t healthy either. I have committed to 30 days, but I very much suspect it will be a lifetime. Feeling awful is a great motivation to not DARE step out of that box. I naturally intermittent fast 18/6 , so I have that leg up. I don't eat pork, so that helps too. Fav food hands down for my entire 57 years has been cheeseburgers. Shoulda known🙄😁 Can't wait to see more of your videos. Your openness HELPS. Thank you again.

Thank you THANK you for this video. This is how I’ve been feeling for freaking ever!!!!!! It is SO helpful to hear someone talk about this. I’m 21, 5’3” and 155lbs. I was down to 120 when I was vegan and got SO sick because of that diet. I have been on and off keto for the past 3 month and of course that’s been unhealthy, but I’m switching to carnivore and cutting out dairy. Something I get so caught up in is the “health nuts” that say we should have balance and let ourselves cheat but it messes me up every single time and I go right back to binging. It feels SO much better to me to be strict, at least for now. Thank you again for this video!

I loved hearing about your carnivore journey and congratulations on your great success! I also have extreme problems with carbs. On my channel I related how I was vegetarian and vegan for five years, crave food the whole time, then went to Paleo which is low carb and my cravings were greatly reduced. I totally identified with your comment about the Oreos. There is no such thing as one Oreo in my life! I get so tired of people saying well why don’t you just have one cookie? If I could, I would probably mainline cakes pies and cookies. That’s why I try not to have even one bite. I was a vegan for five years too! And on a curves membership, gaining weight non stop, having people lying to me saying "it's muscle weigh gain" as a way of keeping me in their sick system. I found myself travelling abroad once or twice a year to break my vegan diet and gym routine, and then coming back home to realize I would feel so much better and I would lose weight. That'd when I realized I was battling all the symptoms of hypoglycemia and adrenal fatigue, and it was time to stop veganism and hit training. My mind works so much better now.

What a lovely, lovely woman.. Well done Laura. You were obviously nervous, 'nearly' a llittle tearful.. but you held yourself up. lol.. And you did it ! The weight you've lost is inspiring.. I've no doubt that you'll keep it off too from now on. I'm a carnivore too, and will be forever now I think.. I do eat plants every now and then, but I almost always feel rubbish afterwards. The bitterness of salad leaves is simply too strong for me now.. they make me want to throw up.. as does eating cucumber (zucchini?) with the skin on.. eeew.. As you were talking to us all, it sort of became clear to me that the sound of your own voice seemed to be talking to you too.. You seemed to sense how daft you'd been before, back sliding into eating too much, becoming even more aware of the wrong grub you'd been eating. You were almost doing "Affirmations" to remind yourself, and that you could see.. that you've grown up now.. and are NOW in control of your eating.. am I close? Talking like this to ourselves, not 'randomly', but deliberately, sends the sound of our voice straight into our subconscious.... and really does reinforce anything we try to do, or acheive. I reccommend it :-) Anyway.... well done you. You look blooming gorgeous, you obviously feel great.. and youir hubby must feel like he's got a new lady in his life ...AND he doesn't need to feel guilty !! lol. Many of us quite envy him I'm sure :-) Keep it up, I look forward to watching more of your videos.. and you've got a new 'sub' here.. and a new thumbs up too. Best wishes from Yorkshire, England. .
