Dick Barton Special Agent (1948) is the first of three adaptations of the popular BBC Radio serial produced by Exclusive Films / Hammer Films.

In 2012, I provided a number of filmed introductions for the new official Hammer KZfaq channel, including this one - which was originally posted alongside the film. The video hasn't been available for some time and is provided here for education and reference purposes.
I was then serving as Hammer's webmaster and official archivist, and this was among the last projects I worked on for the company.
The 2022 me has to acknowledge that this is a little ropey - shot on a shoestring with failing equipment in a 4:3 ratio black and white to mimic the original presentation of the film. This was the first of about a dozen videos I made at the time for the Hammer channel, not all of which were used.
A decade on, and I'd quite like to revisit them - experience means I know I could do a better job now!
