In Lean Six Sigma, as we work to improve our process, we measure it, and we need to ensure those measurements are accurate. Measurement systems analysis (MSA) is used to help identify the variation in our process that is caused by our measurement tools and methods, so we can address it. Our goal is for precision and accuracy in our measurements. (Precision means we are getting consistent measurements, and accuracy means we are getting measurements close to the reference.)
