Except you need a second person to stop someone stealing the total station and everything else.

What are the math prerequisites that one would need to know to operate a total station assuming they were trained how to use the equipment?
@LeicaGeosystemsCH6 жыл бұрын
In general, the math prerequisites do not need to be high to operate our total stations. Sure, it can depend on the measurement task. Actually, we have different total stations and different software that can be used for the different measurement tasks in different industries. Our software that operates our total stations are focusing on simplicity and ease-of-use. Furthermore, the measurement data are displayed in graphical viewers so that everybody can easily check if all the measurements are done. In case of a problem in the field, we also offer remote support e.g. with our Leica ActiveAssist. This allows a Leica Geosystems support person to directly interact with the instrument in the field in case of any issues.

Wow. Thank you for the reply. I look forward to using your tools.

However, using their data collectors or software you will need patiences and practice. It took me 2 weeks to be comfortable and confident. It's a whole different beast say compared to SurvCE or Survey Pro. Everything just takes more button presses and entering codes can be frustrating. Don't get me started on how the numbering for staking is annoying. Basically, a field person didn't create their software.

Don't let autolock fool you though. It locks on cars, safety vest, and other lights. Another thing I've noticed is when looking through the Instrument you arent always on the center of the 360 prism or other Backsights... #jmo

Austin Simpson I always swing my rod left and right in front of me to make sure, my ts has red/green laser depending which way the rod is. Trimble
@daddymcsnacks_5615 жыл бұрын
@@ZeroGravASAP The S6 Trimble loves anything that is reflective. I always have to check the distance and like you said move the rod to make sure it's actually measuring. We use Leica, Spectra Focus, Trimble and GeoMax at my company. So I've seen all the little inconvenient hiccups they each have.

@@daddymcsnacks_561 Hi Austin, sorry to trouble you, but which of the manufacturers are generally better at not mistaking the prism for a car or safety vest? Thank you very much.
@daddymcsnacks_5615 жыл бұрын
@@bikerchrisukk Leica is probably the best for that. Now if you can link a Carlson data collector up and use SurveyPro or SurvCE you are rolling! That's my preference anyways.

@@daddymcsnacks_561 Hi Austin, very kind of you to respond. Brilliant follow up info, thank you very much, I was already on the Leica road, but knowing about Carlson is very help.
