In the video you mention not knowing the difference between Opacity and Flow! If you put Flow to 20% and keep your pen on the same spot eventually it will build up to 100% coverage on that spot over time, however, if you put Opacity to 20% and keep your pen held down it will never go above 20% - as long as you don't lift and re-place your pen to the tablet (or click) you can go over and over the same area and still only have 20% transparency! :) Just a bit of trivia/info ^^

Seriously, I'd buy it too! If it had a discretely-sized (not huge) "Flipped Normals" text on one line and "Exactly" on the next. Up over the heart area on a classic black t-shirt (size medium, pls)

I think these guys have some of the best tutes on the web (yeah exactly), but his obsession with that phrase is like Chinese water torture. The only way to get through it is to try to anticipate his next "yeah exactly". A tad fun. Nevertheless, I watched this to learn, and learn I did. Too bad they don't answer follow-up questions.

Guys, you are fantastic tutors! I love especially how you are doing it together. Mostly it is just one tutor in all other tutorials in the internet, and some of the points might be missed, skipped or simply forgotten and here we can see the power of the 2nd tutor! Also, it makes me feel like a real dialogue! You are my favorite CG tutors :D
@DodaGarcia
@DodaGarcia 3 жыл бұрын
I mean, by that logic you might as well have 36 tutors since no person or tutorial is ever going to teach every single thing about something. I was honestly very distracted by the constant back and forth between voices and their reacting to each other’s jokes and gave up on the video, but maybe it’s a matter of personal taste since the dialogue nature of it was a plus for you.

Substance is one of the few very trick pieces of software I was able to get in on on the ground floor. Starting my 3D journey as a texture artist many moons ago, moving from traditional painters and suddenly seeing Substance at a trade show, I was utterly floored. I remember having so much fun on the demo with the particle generator that they had to kick me off. It's been interesting watching it grow and explode, becoming industry-leading. While I'm sure the dev's loved getting gobbled up by Adobe, I hate renting software and never upgraded my original perpetual license, though I'd really like to see all the new features for myself one of these days.

I used to be the same way about modeling. If people didn’t model the thing from scratch then they aren’t real modelers. But over time I realized it’s better to work smarter than harder. If you want to download a base mesh rather than make one then go for it. As long as the end product is quality and you aren’t just blatantly stealing, I don’t see a problem. It doesn’t matter how you got the end product, it just matters how good it is.
