Thank you! I wanted to learn tapestry crochet and this was the perfect project. I made some errors, so I will be following along again to discover why my ends were on the opposite side to yours for instance and I also missed the end bit where you attach it to a dowel. Over all excellent tutorial. I have to say though this stitch drove me mad. My hook got caught in the fibers on nearly every stitch. Of course, I did get obsessed and stayed sitting for far too long and may have been a bit irritable. :)

I think the author had to pass the white thread under green stitches in the first 2 raws as well. Otherwise the thickness will differ through the piece.
