"We're so afraid of not knowing, that we construct fantasies of what things are so we can then defend them and feel comfort in our knowing." - Bon Soeng

Everyone outhere on the earth , in different robes, different languages, different ways of living , different ways of worshipping, meditation and discourses, are just trying out sincerely knowingly or unknowingly intentionally or unintentionally, to lead me back home and this really whenever I am made to feel it, bring tears and love together making the heart shine and radiate, thanks, thanks, and love to all and everybody , thanks, thankyou very much

I am practicing Zazen for many years and yet . . . Each time I sit or stand or walk I am a beginner . I hear Zen Master say ‘who is doing the sitting? Who is standing? Who is walking? ‘ and always the answer is ‘don’t know ‘ Until no self appears , don’t know remains

Hi can you guys explain to me the possible dangers of emptiness or experiencing the falling away of self? Such as how some say being "drunk on emptiness" what is that?
@99desi9n2 жыл бұрын
Halfway throughout your presentation, but I must say, excellent description of the Zen experience without encumbering the viewer with grand conceptualization. Eloquence is never truthful, the truth is never eloquent.

I've wanted to join a local zen center for a long time, but after taking their online classes I just can't retain the knowledge. It's mostly history that I have trouble with not the actual buhddist stuff.
@JasonQuinnZen2 жыл бұрын
History and knowledge are not so important to retain. Only, what is happening right now? How can I help?
@danielgonzalez57872 жыл бұрын
@@JasonQuinnZen I understand that those things don't really matter but each online class ends with a test. I just wish I knew that I wasn't going to make a fool of myself if I actually show up at the center.

With a open heart, opened the arms, now let there be hugging , blows, swords cutting through the flesh , yes, yes to whatever appear, yes yes to that which disappear, happy, rejoicing ,stark naked ,nothing to coverup ,sweet end of the carving to wear.

Started sitting...thoughts coming and going...nothing to see here move along now...ok keep going....then there would be times when it seemed like was going down beneath the Grand Central Station of coming and going to spaces...but the thing is out of these spaces would come what seemed to be patterns....not so much thoughts but clusters of who knows what but sensed that these things are what's driving and creating realities....most were akward and confused and have an air of uncertainty about them....and the real kicker is that they seemed surprised to be found out....like I said not fun but something told me to just hang out with them...do nothing...like someone who is having a challenging acid trip you just kind of stay with them not offering any advice and whatever way they go you just be ok with that....then the bell rings and poof....so...we shall see.

I've never been born and will never die. If you don't understand this, take up practice with a qualified, authorized Zen teacher and find out what this means for yourself.

@@ObakuZenCenter Hi, the good news is that according to the Bible, you can be *100%* sure of going to Heaven. Jesus died for your sins on the cross and rose again from the dead. If you simply believe in Him, i.e., trust that when He died, He died for you personally. That moment God will give you the free gift of everlasting life! If you'd like more information on what the Bible says about how to receive salvation, please visit my website. Thanks and God bless.

I work with disabled folks. As Soeng describes the Zen mind, I see this in left brain stroke sufferer. in the other non Zen mind, it's the right brain stroke victim. Zen practice restores the right brain participation. IF our education models did not damage the right brain/whole brain development Zen would not be necessary in adulthood. Zen restores what the society destroys by design. Zen must leave the temple and work to restore the social institutions. Zen should work to render itself obsolete by restoring the natural self that is born in Zen.
