Hello Mike! First I'd like to thank you for sharing your art, talent and knowledge. It is really appreciated. I got teased when you said you would do a video on how to practice tremolos cause I'm having a hard time playing them while keeping the left hand steady on the blues riff. I know you must be very busy, but I can't wait to hear your approche for this! Keep up the good work!

Great video, Bass notes going up G A B C work well with the lic too. I think this is the classic piano fill in the verse of Sweet Home Alabama. ( done on the G chord? ) much faster though. Again well done!

1:14 I’d guess it’s a dominant seventh (G7 in this case), which would lead nicely back to the tonic.

I have a VERY difficult time trying to do tremolos. I just can't seem to get the motion. They end up sounding like a series of eighth notes! When I can get my fingers going fast enough, I end up not pushing the keys down to where they play the note! So, it seems like I either play them too slowly, or I play them too silently! 😂
@UniverseofKeys
@UniverseofKeys 10 ай бұрын
I think Tremolos take ALOT of time and you are not alone in this. I remember it took me a solid year to get them. Practice slowly and be patient with yourself!! It will come. Thanks for checking out the channel! Mike

Hi! I have a question for you. I was looking your website and there is no “just videos” with licks to buy them, right? Its only with a subscribe system? Cause I need a website where I can learn several licks for blues/boogie and you are amazing! Thanks!

Hey Alejandro :). Yes my site is a subscription based kinda thing. There are many great licks there, you can sign up and easily cancel your subscription anytime! Grab what you need and get out lol. Thanks for watching the videos :)

I see you don't distinguish between a 6th with 3rd(m) from a 6th(m) with 3rd in the presentation and that is because it is equally applicable and whether we have a 6th or a 6th(m) depends on where we are in the underlying scale if I understand correctly as I see you are using both types. So in C Major scale the 6th based off E would be a 6th(minor) but the 6th based off G would be a 6th Major. In other words the two notes making the sixth should fit nicely within the underlying scale. I love this video here.

The visual feedback of the lit keys separate from your hands is super useful and important to me. Because I can see your right hand doing the thirds or sixths seeing the pattern and de facto get my ear get used to recognize that sound interval as I am getting the visual clue as a guide.
@UniverseofKeys
@UniverseofKeys Жыл бұрын
Thanks Philippe, many of the sixths and thirds are based off of the C mixolydian scale. That scale is C D E F G A Bb C. The only interval that does not come from this scale is the diminished which is Gb - Eb. The mixolydian scale is perfect for blues stuff because it contains all 4 notes from a C dominant 7 chord (C E G Bb) and dominant 7's are used in Blues a lot. When I am thinking of 6ths in blues I am building all of them from the mixolydian scale. Not sur if this makes sense lol but thought I would share. Have a great day!
@philippederome2434
@philippederome2434 Жыл бұрын
@@UniverseofKeys yes Mike, it makes sense and I am thankful for you taking the time. I had not identified the actual scale there (mixolydian) as I was simply "enjoying the ride" and I missed the one interval that stood out Gb - Eb. It does make sense actually.
