Join me as I create an intuitive floral painting using Mijello Mission Gold Paints. The whole idea of intuitive watercolor is to allow the paints to take you on a journey, instead of you forcing them onto one. It’s the perfect way to learn how to loosen up in your art.

Thanks Sheri. I think some people hurting and just lash out on whoever they can and that falls under critiquing in a poor way. It’s ok, since this video I’ve gotten a lot tougher to things said and not let them effect me, life’s to short.

And if you were with me in a class and were scared i would make you literally throw paint onto the paper to get you started, sometime we have to be pushed into the swimming pool. In this case its a pool of watercolor.

Self taught. For 40 years have thought one can learn skill and technique (any art: drama, music, dance, written word); it’s the intuition and willingness to - after years of practice - ditch technique. Experiment breeds the artist. Salut.

So glad i stumbled upon this! I love abstract work & recently started using more watercolors for their simplicity but have been really stuck. Right off the bat I felt old scarcity come up when you laid down a whole expensive sheet of paper! Aaaaah it’s been ages since I was broke but by golly, there’s no creativity where there is fear. This was gorgeous and cheers to logging off and finding your own voice.

I am really inspirers of this tutorial. You pegged it for me! Following where the paint leads you, and building up layers. It is such a pleasure to hear you talk through your videos so please continue. I can relate to feeling that I should have stopped when achieving a pattern I like then messing it up with too much of the same. But seeing you gracefully make a few adjustments to produce a grand end result is something that is worth a lot. This knowledge is valuable and I thank you for sharing your work. I’m a self taught hobby painter and hope to see more of your intuitive painting style.

I never thought I would live long enough to see an abstract painter who was wholly intentional. Thanks!
@debralynrosenbachart
@debralynrosenbachart 2 жыл бұрын
What do you mean? can you expound on that. I’m curious.
@NMranchhand
@NMranchhand 2 жыл бұрын
@@debralynrosenbachart Certainly. A lot of people use “abstract” to cover a random, thoughtless approach that is wholly reliant on the happy accident. You, on the other hand, showed clear planning and composition from the start with your intentional preservation of white space. You built depth through an excellent understanding of atmospheric perspective. You receded with blues, light values, and soft focus, and then came forward in layers of warmer colors, darker values, and well defined lines with the rigger (I view the rigger work as my reward for having done the heavy lifting). As a result of your intentionality, your beautiful painting has organization and three-dimensionality, while retaining the vibrant spontaneity of an actual abstraction of a real subject. That’s no inkblot test.

Ohh gosh you're a woman of my own heart with your "loose" painting style and tutorial... really had to have a little giggle at "I don't now how to stop". I'm so glad there are others out there who love it and do it like I do...I will absolutely keep on watching your tutorials. It's such a pleasure to watch you work and I can learn so much from you...I have always painted and, yes, I did paint in aquarel but not since I went to art college and that was more years ago then I want to think about. And since then I only painted in either oil or acrylic. Only very recently I went back to watercolour and discovered that it is a really fun media to work with. Thank you for sharing your ideas...

Your video popped up on my suggested list since I recently watched a couple of beginner videos. I'm mainly a paper crafter. I enjoyed watching your painting come to life and how you explained what you were doing. One thing you mentioned is so true for any crafting and that is to try not to watch too many videos. Often crafters are trying to duplicate other's techiques and style, they lose touch with their own creativity.

Thanks Ruth! Yeah, 90% of the time I have no idea what I’m going to paint, I just start throwing paint down and just let it do it’s thing…I find it more fun.

Love this. I'm new at painting and I would have stopped long before you did. Then I watched and saw how much more beautiful you made it. It's the one thing I always ask myself - when would I stop? So glad you continued. I also like to hear you talk. I feel like we are together painting! Happy New Year

Letting go is not always easy for everyone. I find just throw paint down with out thinking to get things going helps.
