이누야샤는 진짜 인생을 통째로 바꿔놓은 애니라서 특히 더 정이 갑니다ㅋㅋㅋ 이누야샤 본걸 계기로 애니 덕후가 되고, 10년이 넘도록 계속 애니 보다보니 일본어가 트이고, 그 덕분에 지금 일본에서 취업까지 했으니..ㅋㅋㅋ 제가 한가지 특이한 점은 초딩때 집에 투니버스가 안 나온 탓에 인터넷을 뒤져서 일본판을 다운받아 봤던 사람이라 한국인임에도 일본판이 훨씬 익숙하다는 점..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

In Mexico, both Inuyasha and Sakura Cardcaptors' openings were the same songs as the original japanese ones (but sung in spanish) while Yu Gi Oh was the exact same intro song as the US one, which is actually quite an interesting mix. It's nice being able to recognize the tune of old animes and being able to sing the same tune both in japanese and in spanish!

When Cardcaptor Sakura was decided to come to the US, they tried to change it into more shounen style so it'll appeal to boys too, which is why they changed the title to Cardcaptors to include Li as a main character. It's the reason why the episodes of Li getting a card (i.e. Time, Twin) and the action-packed episodes (i.e. Power, Fight) were aired repeatedly. And also the reason why they have such an American shounen-esque theme song.

엄청 오랜만에 돌아온 굉장히 재밌는 시리즈인데 할 게 없어서 마지막이라니 아쉽네요

이누야샤 한국판은 진짜 sm이 총출동 해서 불렀다고 해도 과언이 아니라 다른것들도 들어봤으면 좋았을텐데... 진짜 신화, 보아, 천상지희, 이삭, 서현진(지금은 배우) 소녀시대 수영(이땐 연습생 시절이긴 했지만) 등등 겁나 화려했음 갠적으로 일본판 보다 좋은 오프닝 엔딩도 많았음

I had never actually heard the English version for Cardcaptor Sakura. The channel that aired it here just cut the opening songs of most kid shows since most people skipped intros. And I could have sworn the first opening for InuYasha was in the original Japanese when I watched it on Toonami. As well as the ending song. Around the time Toonami was getting popular, I remember seeing more anime that had very few changes from the original aside from language. At least in the ways of not editing episodes or changing the character's names to English ones.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! opening you used for the Japanese one is “season 0” animated by Toei Animation. The first openings America and Korea have are from what’s called Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters in Japan which was animated by Studio Gallop.

However, I suggest you also do various video series on a specific anime in detail looking not only at previous, recent, and present anime series but also compare character names and more. E.g. A series on #Pokemon comparing various openings, endings, #Pokemon names, trainer's names, and more throughout the series in addition to the original you already compared in multiple languages.

Erina was so cute in this one! I'm glad she got to share her childhood with you, haha. But honestly, the English Yugioh opening slaps hard and no one can tell me otherwise.

70년대 한국에선 일본 주제가 멜로디 거의 비슷했는데 80년대이후 새로 작곡하는 경향이 많아 졌어요. 그때는 일본애니dst가 주로 앤카스타일이었는데 요즘은 락밴드스타일이 많더군요. 정확히는 모르지만 요즘 일본에서 잘나가는 요아소비나 요루시카,리사,마푸마푸 같은 밴드 노래 중에 애니ost가 많다고 하더라구요.

InuYasha was actually dubbed in Canada! (It’s not American) the OP songs in the English version all remained in Japanese (even on TV) except for the little intros where they talk in OP 4, 5 and 6 I believe. The OP that was played as American in this video was actually an English cover made by the Italian VA of InuYasha I believe. :)

Card Captor Sakura is hilarious in french. Producers gave everyone old school french names, except for Sakura (probably bc she's the MC) so it feels really weird to watch the french dub. When roll call happens you hear all those old french names, and Sakura in the middle of all this.

In Australia we actually got an English version of the Japanese op! So I was surprised at the American one too lmao

Here in Brazil they are actually quite fateful to the original names and the openings and endings. For Sakura Card Captors they just translated the lyrics, I think the same was done to Inuyasha. I have a friend in Trindad & Tobago who watched Inuyasha in Brazilian Portuguese once and she always commented how good Seshoumaru's voice was and the quality of the dubbing.

Whenever I watched InuYasha on Toonami, it was always with the Japanese opening and ending themes. I've never heard them in English.

I really love Inuyasha! I'm from Barcelona (Spain) so we have 2 languages Spanish and Catalan. I've seen animes in both languages so it's different from one to another, including names and openings

Fun fact: CardCaptor Sakura’s theme songs were translated in some parts of the world with the exact same music. But it’s complicated. For example, in Québec, or other parts of Canada where they speak French, the show’s themes were all in French and had the exact same songs. But these songs were not used when played in France! France had theme songs that were dance pop songs made by FroggyMix. It’s really odd! But i’m glad I grew up with all the songs that were original but just translated. Some of the japanese songs were played as-is too. NOW TO ADD TO THE CRAZYNESS. Canada also had CardCaptors same as the US in english, and indeed, the story was heavily edited. So in the end, i’m incredibly glad I had the version in French. It was REALLY close to the Japanese original version. And having the extra songs was a bonus!

Listen, CardCaptors (Eng) OP was hype AF!!! I remember watching it as a child and it's still my number one fav anime. Though I know the Canadian dub changed and glossed over some aspects that made it so special but thank God my local library had all the manga volumes. To me, CardCaptors and CardCaptor Sakura are the same but different shows and I love both the original Japanese version and the Canadian English dub. Also...sorry but Yu-Gi-Oh! Eng OP is also HYPE AF. IDK what anyone says, I turn up to that. But idk it could be my nostalgia talking. As for Inuyasha, I don't remember the Eng OP much, mostly the Japanese ones. Overall I loved watching all these shows as a child and even more so as an adult

In the Philippine dubbed broadcasts, the titles were mainly maintained, but the entire opening sequence more often than not cut for time, since commercials still take predence so much that basically local programming on a normal day is: -85% commercials/advertisements + TV station promotions (programs & news) -15% actual programming

YGO English opening really had the best hype music out of all the openings imo, but then when you hear Passionate Duelist in the Japanese version, it's FULL HYPE TIME PEDALTOTHEMEDALLET'SGO.

I prefer the Japanese opening for Cardcaptor Sakura over the English one 100%. Also, the English version for Yu-Gi-Oh as well as the Japanese versions of InuYasha's theme songs is also my favourites. My favourite theme for InuYasha is the first opening for sure whilst the ending for InuYasha is the second ending theme. Japanese versions, I mean. Fukai Mori by Do As Infinity. ♥

Yeah as some have mentioned in Australia. (Not sure which production company etc) But our opening for Card Captor was basically the japanese one in english. I was hella confused with Dave cringing haha

In Indonesia we use the original version (Japan ver.) Cardcaptor Sakura remind me of my childhood, and Inuyasha remind me of my middle school 😊

The weirdest thing is that growing up watching Inuyasha I swear they aired it with the Japanese version of "Change The World" and I didn't find out about the English version until later on because I have distinct memories of 5 year old me hearing the opening come on with "I want to change the world, 情熱絶やさずに高鳴る未来へ, 手を伸ばせば輝けるはずさ It's wonderland" instead of whatever the English lyrics are.

Love inuyasha! It's the closing songs that are the best though. So nostalgic

Im from Malaysia. They play all OG Japanese version song here for those 3 anime even for mandarin dub. Depend on the channel, Chinese channel used mandarin dub but keep the Japanese song and on english channel the play japanese song with OG Japan seiyuu but with english sub. Listening to inuyasha opening never fail makes me wanna cry. Its like unlock some memories from back there since i dont even remember my childhood but for sure Inuyasha is the only happiness that i have back then.

Inuyasha never used English songs for their openings or endings in the US. In fact, when it initially aired, the openings were typically omitted altogether and only the Japanese endings were left intact. It wasn’t until many years later the Japanese openings did start being aired in the US and on all home media releases the Japanese openings and endings are intact too. “Change the World” has always been performed by Japanese band V6 here, we never ever had the English version by Max Alto.
