Weird that a space-faring species has never heard of a nuclear bomb. They probably use pure plot armor as an energy source. They should also look into protecting themselves from incoming missiles. Something else they apparently never heard of before.

I started off quite put off by the wise cracking narrator but at some point I started laughing , and in the end I find that I couldn't get enough of it. I'll definitely come back for more of yourdry humor, good sir!

I liked it a lot even the scaled down version. Except for the Alfred Hitchcock ending, it just makes me want to see more. Good sci-fi is very hard to come by. And this was really good.

It's a great science fiction series. When was the last time someone came up with a totally new or different concept? Not just the aliens, but about how they function. We have not see all the aliens yet either. Just love seeing something new and fresh in concept. The characters are extremely well developed as well, but neat how they wove their story arcs together. Can't wait for 2nd season!

For me, it was disjointed. The images and the CGI were interesting. I had high hopes but there were too many loose ends. If this was an invasion, for what purpose? The movie said terraforming, but for what purpose? Was the alien's planet destroyed, were they running from a more dangerous species, were they a space-traveling species that found planets and destroyed them for their resources and moved on like locusts? Did the boy's mind connection through telepathy with the aliens reveal they were going to terraform the planet? The Japanese woman who was a translator said the alien language was too complex to understand. Also, it was a language without sound. Does this mean telepathy? And was it too difficult to understand? And what happened to the space shuttle crew? Were they killed? The Japanese woman's paramour appeared to be alive. How so if the entire crew was sucked into space with no space suits on? Would the Japanese woman choose the life of her friend over that of billions of other human lives? Why so angry with the Americans for nuking the aliens and saving humanity? I think she would be sad. Was the ship self-regenerating? If it could regenerate, could it regenerate a biosphere in the spaceship for the aliens to live in? Why terraform Earth and not the moon or Mars or Neptune? It could be that much of the logic in the story as written was lost in adapting it to the screen. Maybe the producers just cut too much out in the screen adaptation. Just my thought. Or, maybe it will be cleared up in season 2? As negative as this may sound, I like this kind of sci-fi.

Last night, I wasted 4 hours of my life watching this hot garbage. The initial premise was good (Sam Neil part) so I decided to watch it. Then I got to see the boy disappears and the scene goes on 30 hours looking for him. From that point, I flipped through it. The couple’s story is too terrible to relate to any of plot lines. The soldier and the boy didn’t mesh well. For children’s part, the lord of flies kind of take was interesting but it fizzles when the boy finds rootless supernatural ability. The only part I find interesting was the story about Japanese gay couple. But this was ruined by unrealistic mythos. The same mistake as the Arrival committed. It also borrows too much references from Cloud Atlas in storytelling and Arrival in cinematography. Stop copying them, folks. Both are crappy movies. The entire episodes can be summed up in one episode. Why wasting audiences’ 10 hours by wasting valuable resources? Please apple, donate money for hungry children if you have enough to burn it.

I'm not sure about this show. I'm three episodes into it and I am concerned about the amount of unnecessary fluff. The storyline with the lesbian JASA worker is just pointless. The wife discovering her cheating husband is drawn out far too long. The father attempting to abandon his family is just bad writing all round. 6/10
