Surviving Ringworm

How to dig a foundation when the ground is all rock? I've made up my own method to hold up my mini cabin.
Music is a much shortened version of Erik Satie’s Gnossienne 1
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Because I’ve gotten so many questions about the gear that I use on the channel, here are some of the most important pieces I use every day:
(I do receive a small commission from sales associated with the following links. Any income from these sales goes directly to supporting me in making new videos for this channel!)
**I will not share links to products that I don't use regularly or that I wouldn't buy again.**
Small wifi microscope amzn.to/3yQciT9
The noise cancelling headphones I got recently that fit under my muffs: amzn.to/3QwoS0Z

Thank you all so much for supporting this crazy endeavor! Without you folks donating to Surviving Ringworm, I wouldn't be able to even consider staying out here in the wilderness a THIRD year making videos. You seriously blow my mind!

I loved the music, it was hauntingly beautiful, rich and deep and from the heart. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, you are a master when it comes to bringing out the magic in all the wood you handle. Why wouldn't you be able to bring out the beautiful sounds from the wood in the guitar. Well done. Creativity is magnified in the human spirit when you find the freedom and joy of pursuing the things that you are uniquely designed for, by God. I think your girlfriend sees that quality in you and appreciates why you are doing what you are doing and that's why you guys make a great couple. The creativity in your channel is what makes it stand out from the rest of KZfaq.

With so much firewood now on the ground a wood stove for times the propane runs out would be a sound investment for your deep winter cabin. Hot summer is the time to pick up a used one cheap!
@Hexoutdoors
@Hexoutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
In one of his earlier videos he said that he was gonna put a propane heater in there instead of a wood stove. I mean I agree with you. I think he should, with all that wood he’s cut already. I was cringing at all those rounds he just threw into a fire lol

Use a Water Level for distant leveling. All you need is a clear hose. It was invented by: Theodorus of Samos, a Greek guy well before yours and my time added together. I enjoy watching you fly by the seat of your pants when making something. Usually, those kind of things end up better than following someone else's plans.

Any poplar (aspen) any where near your cabin needs to be cut own. They rot easily and/or the limbs break off plus it doesn't take much to get them to fall. Ice, snow or wind will see them on the ground. Love that music you were playing at the end.

Take it from an old Arborist. When you suspect a barber chair come in about 10% on each side of your cut first just until it lines up with your face. when you make your back cut your holding wood will be more prepared to hinge. Also if you start using the "flat face instead of the "closed face" for felling you will have more control of the wood all the way down and it won't jump on you. The closed face is best when you want the wood to pop hard. Sometimes we use this up in a tree to get the top to go where we want but it really isn't the best felling wedge in most circumstances. Probably stay away from the humbolt face. Not a good idea most of the time.
