The first sound recording in history was made by Parisian Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville on April 9, 1860. However, Scott could not listen to the recording; because he was able to transform the sound into a visible state with his invention called the Phonotograph. That is, the method he used was only for showing sound waves. This recording of his was converted into sound by Historian David David Giovanni and the FirstSounds group on March 27, 2008. The first sound recording Scott recorded was a French folk song. Now, let's listen to this audio recording together. You probably didn't understand anything from the recording you listened to. Now let's listen to the edited version of the recording.
