The ram splitter is definitely a great asset to have to assist with those big rounds, to save from having to axe them or rip them with the 572/592! And who doesn’t mind some extra seat time with the Kioti really lol! Like your tractor, that’s a great size and works well for your operation 💯👍. Anyways thanks for showcasing this and having us down to the woodyard that day! Enjoyed the video! Andrew from NB, Canada :)

Those logs were massive. That would be the only way other than wedges. You're pretty good with that splitter. Good work.

Very nice tool to go along with the super splitter. I’m using wedges and a maul on big pieces. I’ve noodled some, but I prefer the wedges. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for watching & commenting!! I’m not much on using wedges unless I have to. Noodling is kinda fun though.

Very good way to handle the bigger pieces. It would sure save your back if you could split them over a trailer or old hay wagon that was close to your splitter height. I try to avoid throwing or cutting on the ground, getting too old for that. I am working on a new layout from start to finish with a cutting deck and gravity feed to my splitter on roller track, and stack into racks straight from the splitter, the move to the storage area. It should save alot of bending over. Just need to get through the 40+ cords of rounds stacked up from Ash removals last year. It takes time, without a doubt.

I need to come up your way and try splitting some of that oakery some time 😂. That gave me a good laugh haha. That’s an awesome piece of equipment there. I call those huge rounds behemoths and they are very hard to split. What a handy piece of equipment that is! Great video, as always 👍

That inverted splitter has a place in my woodyard for certain. I’m getting a 3rd function plumber in and will have to see about getting me one. I’m getting too old to move some of the giant rounds I’ve got - and I have cords worth of those rounds piled up and many more yet to be bucked. Great video. One thing (IF you have the time), you ought to do @HardworkingMan 1/3 cord challenge. I’d be curious to see the time it takes your SuperSplit to do one. Oh, and it can help bring attention to your channel too 👍🏻

I have the same splitter with a 4-way wedge but I use it on my Bobcat 773 to bust up the big logs to finish on my rugged split both 22 ton and they work great. I just cut for our use thou. Great video.

Many thanks for watching & commenting!! I’d like to try the 4 way but I doubt my tractor hydraulics would handle it.

A friend of ours got a new splitter that goes on the back of a tractor and boy was he proud of it. But after running it a couple times he thought man this is crazy. He raised cattle for a living and cut and bailed all of his hay. He said he is out there running his big tractor to get 35 dollars worth of wood where he could mount a 55 dollar 5 horse motor and do the same thing. So if u are putting hours on your tractor motor that a 5 horse motor can do
@TwinCityFirewood11 ай бұрын
Yessir. I get what your saying. I only use this splitter to bust big rounds down to a manageable size & then I split them to sale with my super splitter. Taking the tractor/splitter to the large rounds to split is handy for me. Plus my tractor is meant to make firewood & other chores more enjoyable and easier on the body. Appreciate your input! And thanks for watching!!

You do a good job with your videos buddy! Like this one, was wondering if I could run similar set up on my tractor! Are you a lineman by chance? That’s what I do for a living I live in northern ky! One question I do have how did you go about acquiring the restaurants business? I recently purchased a super split also and and a side hustle if you will.
@TwinCityFirewood11 ай бұрын
Many thanks brother! Yes I am a lineman. I live in TN but work in KY. I’m blessed to work at a good place. I deliver to several folks that cook or have food trucks,etc. As far as the restaurant goes, I reached out to him to see if he had a “wood guy” & at the time he did, but ended up calling me a few months later. I delivered to him for 1.5 years. He has referred me to several other folks. Restaurants are definitely good to deal with if you can work out a deal that’s fair for both parties. I would suggest going to eat @ any restaurant your trying to get their business and hope to maybe talk to the owner/manager, maybe leave a card. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching & commenting!

@@TwinCityFirewood appreciate the info buddy! As far as the people that cook and food trucks did you get that business from word of mouth or do you advertise?
@TwinCityFirewood11 ай бұрын
Mainly word of mouth. I advertise on Facebook marketplace at the end of summer/early fall for about a month or 2 then I usually take it down b/c I have trouble keeping up with deliveries.

What 3rd function valve are you using? How does it operate.
@TwinCityFirewood7 ай бұрын
I’m not sure of the brand. Dealer installed it when I bought the tractor. It’s an electric over hydraulic valve. Thanks for watching

@TwinCityFirewood11 ай бұрын
It would probably work better/faster on your bobcat. Thanks for watching!
@smorefirewood11 ай бұрын
@@TwinCityFirewood yes the hydraulic flow would be much faster. But the trade off is the bobcat tears the heck out of the ground, leaving yet another mess I need to straighten up.

If it isn't, you could always order it for your 3point and use it that way. My first splitter was a 3pt version, it worked great especially on the huge pieces. If I could roll them , I could split them.
@RicksOutdoors2912710 ай бұрын
What horse power is your tractor and what is the name brand of the splitter
@TwinCityFirewood10 ай бұрын
35 horse tractor & Ramsplitter is the manufacturer of the splitter. It would probably work better if I run hoses to my rear remotes but the 3rd function is handier.
