This is my problem because most workout/ gym/ yoga clothes include the tight fitting pants, which exagerates the awkward and unappealing inverted triangle.

Just a suggestion; your topic is 'Active wear', yet you picked 'golf' as an option to discuss, which, lets be real, is fairly uncommon amongst the masses, rather than swimming, which is much more common, particularly with the holiday season fast approaching? Why have you avoided/omitted such a common sport such as swimming, yet include one such as golf? You even include a bathing suit in your pic, yet make no reference to costumes in your actual upload?

Probably because the workout clothing is more similar and versatile to be used for multiple sports like golf, tennis etc. than swimming. Swimming would probably come under a beach wear video with bikinis and one piece swimwear.
