Thousands of years ago, an accident happened to him that gave him his immortality and superhuman abilities. I remember back when Robot walked in on the Mauler twins right after they made a clone and were arguing about who the clone was. He said "I'll never understand why you do that." Then he experiences the process and describes the feeling of not knowing which one he'd be. Great show.

I don't think it really makes sense for the twins to not know either though as the clone and original would still remember laying on one of the two platforms before the transfer. So the original would know he is because he is still where he was, and the clone would realize he has suddenly seemingly teleported to the other one.

@@odinez7010 They are consistently arguing about who the original is, (Who is no doubt long dead.) I am saying if you made a copy of your mind and downloaded it into a clone of yourself, both the one copying and the copy would remember which side of the machine the one doing the copying was on. So both could deduce who was the copy that just got made based on memory.

@@TheOriginalRaxin Thats not how it works, the consciousness goes to the machine, a copy of it is made and then each consciousness goes to one of the bodies at random, of course the original body is the one that is on the original table, but the original consciousness? Who knows?

I think he loves both mark and Debbie. Omniman has been conflicted since episode 1 as if he didn’t want his life with his human wife and son to end. That conflict alone shows how powerful his love is for them is considering he’s been motivated by the Viltrum teachings, culture, and cause for THOUSANDS of years. He hasn’t had this internal conflict before, which will show in the next episode

This change to Amber's character made her instantly unlikeable. They've been dating for a few months, but she want Mark to reveal not just *his* secret identity, but his father's as well (since he publicly yelled "DAD!" when Omni-man flew into the portal in episode 2). He didn't even tell his longtime friend William, who he'd known far far longer than Amber. And just think, she supposedly knew for months that he was a hero: this means that she publicly called him a coward even though she knew he was just getting the shit beaten out of himself by a cyborg. She knows that he wasn't "hit by a bus" that time he didn't show up at the soup kitchen, but was savagely beaten by something powerful enough to actually injure him. She knows that he witnessed people being fucking *liquefied* by aliens right in front of his face when the Flaxans invaded, and was nearly beaten to death by their leader. Rather than try to show compassion for her boyfriend who is regularly trying to balance saving lives with spending time with her, and who might very well have PTSD, she instead regularly berates him for flaking on their plans. That behavior makes perfect sense and is completely reasonable if she doesn't know he's Invincible. But as soon as they retconned that she knew for months, it makes her come across as emotionally abusive.

Yea I think it’s a total retcon to make her seem smarter than she is. It’s sad because the “representation is bad” folks won the lottery when they could hate on a black female character. Bad writing undermined the thing they were trying to accomplish.

@@moadewunmi9380 Her figuring out is fine (and I was completely with her when we thought she didn't knew), but the way she then went about it isn't. She could've been supportive and understanding, knowing that he literally is using his powers to save other peoples lives. Like they said in the first episode with Red Rush, this simply comes with the territory if you date a super hero. If she can't handle that, then she should've broken up with him, instead of gaslighting & guilt tripping him and making this all about herself.

This is the episode where Amber was solidified as a horrible character for me. Her anger and confusion was justified until this episode, where she flat out admits she knew Mark was Invincible this whole time. But despite that she still blew up on him for missing dates or being late. It's super toxic, hoping they break up.

Rudolph always wanted a way to free himself from his malformed body. The Mauler Clones just had a technology he could use. I don't think it was his plan to also die. He didn't fully understand the Maulers' method until it was used on him. I assume he imagined being downloaded leaving nothing in his old body. I think if he'd been able to invent his own cloning technology that's how it would have worked.

@Danny Davis Ironically, Invincible is all about shades of grey instead of black and white. Getting angry at someone just because they lied no matter what the reason or circumstance is a very black and white way of looking at things. In later seasons it will make sense why secret identities are critical to someone’s safety

I gotta say I was scared Omniman was gonna murder Will right there, I guess he just didn't feel like it. After this episode I couldn't believe what they did with Amber, I kinda liked her and was empathetic because I thought she was ignorant of everything, but when she said she knew, it boiled my blood, like, I still understand she could've felt uncomfortable because what if someone discovered Mark is Invincible and they knew she is his girlfriend (she might've been in danger) but complaining about not going to have the stupid soup while Mark was being obliterated amongst other things, I don't hate her but unless they give her a redemption arc I just can't deal with her. That being said, Mark should've thought twice about starting to date her while he was still a rookie at the hero stuff, maybe just waited until he got used to it and still date her or date any other hero girl (a.k.a Eve).

Imagine a universe where Amber didn’t know Mark was Invincible until he revealed it to her. In that universe, Amber would be 100% justified to react in the way that she did. In that universe, the assholes would be the ones hating on Amber, not those defending her. Unfortunately, we’re not in that universe. Imagine figuring out your boyfriend was a superhero this whole time and you still call him a coward who left you behind in order to save his own skin despite knowing damn well he’s the one getting the shit kicked out of him by a rampaging cyborg, trying to save you and every other innocent bystander there… the definition of selflessness. Doesn’t that seem actually stupid? It’s annoying to me that the writers somehow managed to ruin an entire character with just one line: “I know, Mark”. Like, think about it. Remove that one line and keep everything else in, including what happens in episode 8, and suddenly Amber is not so unlikable anymore. Frustrating to watch, sure. But not unreasonable. I know that I absolutely would have reacted the same way in the heat of the moment were I in her shoes, embarrassing as that may be to admit. But only if I didn’t know he was Invincible beforehand. And that’s why this whole thing sucks so much.

Hell, if in episode 6 , she didn't lashed out on him and that Mark lied to her the entire day. Then qhe would still be right but she had to be crazy about it.

Totally, and she would still be I'm her right to break up with him and not want to contort herself to fit his life style. Instead we got this mess of a character.

If I remember correctly Donald didn't die in the comics, he just faded out of it and was eventually never mentioned again. I guess they decided to give him a proper end in the series.

So everyone in the country or maybe world could see Omni-Man kill The Immortal. The Immortal was dead for several months. Then all of a sudden he is alive and comes flying in and screaming, Ill kill you. Then furiously begins attacking Omni-Man... If i was watching this on TV. I wouldn't jump to clearly Omni-Man must have killed him the first time. I would think he is a clone or a robot or back from the dead and is crazy (like in pet cemetery)... The Immortal had no problem killing humans. The first episode he threw someone into space. I just dont understand Omni-Man defended himself against someone who tried to kill him. Unless you already knew Omni-Man killed him and the guardians. Seems like a huge jump that he is the bad guy.
