I liked the subversion with the king lizard bit at the start. Conventional television storytelling says that if the hero is at gunpoint and the episode ends, or if we see a closeup of the gun with the trigger being pulled super slowly, then something is going to happen to interfere with that. But then...it didn't...he just got shot

My cousin was shot point blank with a 38 hollow tip. Small hole in the forehead, huge blowout in the back of his head. He was 12 at the time. He is now 38 and lives on his own with his daughter. It most definitely can happen. He was always a bit different after, but most people have no idea he is any different until you spend A LOT of time with him.. You would NEVER guess he got half his head blown away. On the other side... I'll probably die from a tooth infection or something stupid... Life is just crazy like that.

He has always been judgmental towards Mark ever since Nolan's betrayal, just not as much anymore. At the beginning of the season, he told Mark that he doesn't fully believe that he's on their side. Pretty sure he still had some lingering doubts during their face off, but there was no time to bicker over it given the dire situation they were in.

I'm sorry, but I think the most notable trope of "superhero who doesn't want powers" is from 1981's Superman II. It did it first & the best. But it also has the best scene for returning powers. When Superman "kneels before Zod" but crushes Zod's hand & lifts him off the ground.😆 Classic!

The reason why Kate's death effected the Imortal so much is most likely because of Kate's age. Yes he had other wives and girlfriends in his long life but they probably lived full lives and died at old ages but Kate was so young and still had many years left
