Nurse here 🖐 the catheter to get a urine sample is NOT a needle. Its a sterile soft rubber tip that is inserted. You only get put to sleep if you need to have one in during a surgery or procedure otherwise it can be done with the patient awake. Good luck Lisa!!

@Mama Lisa I've had 5 kidney Transplants. Exercise, eat healthy, plenty of water, get 6-8 hrs of sleep, and follow Drs orders. Thx for sharing. Call your Dr and ask him or her if you can eat chocolate and hoq much if he or she says ok. You do NOT want to end up on a Dialysis machine. My story started @ the age of 3 yrs old. I do not want to see anything happening to you. Those machines are hard on the body after a while and you really have to measure your food intake as well as liquids. I work in the medical field.. Is normal to worried and be scared. But they do need a sterile clean catch. To make sure the bacteria is gone. It is uncomfortable take some ibuprofen or something for the pain before you go in. It will help a lot.. 😣 I got it done couple times. Since I have kidney problems ..

I had it done and it was fast and didn’t hurt just some pressure.

The catheter is not a needle it’s like a long tube and they put up the urethra it’s uncomfortable because our urethra is small and short inside .

All antibiotics have side effects. But they don’t know how you will react to each one. They try what they can at first while they test and see which works for your infection. The catch is not a needle and it is uncomfortable but it usually doesn’t hurt.

Had the same rash! Was taking a dietary medicine and was sore and itchy. Burning. Had an allergic reaction and was given Benadryl and steroid. Basically the doctor said some medicine has a higher “ingredient”? I’m not sure verbatim what he said but some peoples body can’t have that much of it. My friends son got an allergic reaction from antibiotics too! But he got them all over his body, everywhere and the doctors said they didn’t know why, what is was, and just sent him back home and they just went away. It was so weird. And the rash looks just like that.

Lisa if you had both your kids naturally most likely you've had a catheter in before. Ive had one put in 3 times uncomfortable but nothing to worry about. Also not a needle, just a rubber like tube.

You can be allergic to whatever that’s is in the medicine. I’m also allergic to antibiotics, amoxicillin. So, you need to tell your Doctor so ,they won’t give it to you anymore. Cause I too would get rashes like that & my chest would hurt like I couldn’t breathe. So be careful.

They put you a Catheter when your in labor also first time I didn’t feel it bc of my epidural, & the 2nd I did feel it but it wasn’t painful at all so don’t worry! 😇

I hated having a catheter put in when I was in labor. The first time peeing afterward stung a little.

i LOVE YOU MAMA LISAA. a catheter isnt a surgical procedure is why they dont numb or put you to sleep . iv had one when i was 19, they needed a urine test and i didnt want to do it so i lied and said i was on my period. the catheter stings when they put it in and it does hurt when they pull it out but not like major pain like when you wake up from a surgery. and antibiotics kill bacteria and some people either brake out in rash or they get nauseated. it affects the gut health too thats why they tell you to eat yogurt or take some form of a probiotic and thats why theres a reason because its messing with your good bacteria in your gut. we all have i think 1-2 billion gut microbe and when thats offset by an antibiotic or something else it causes all kinda things from emotional problems to IBS ect.

I’ve had the same thing as you before and I can vouch it is PAINFUL, I thought I was having an apendicitis bc the pain was unbearable

You had you’re appendix tooken out you had to get surgery that’s why you were sleep when they put it in , mama Lisa isn’t getting surgery she’s just getting a sample of urine so she doesn’t need to be sleep for that it’s very common to be awake while getting a catheter put in. Only time you will be asleep is if you’re getting some kind of surgery you don’t really feel it when it’s in, if it’s put in correctly. They don’t need to numb you it’s a quick pinch that’s it. Nothing weird about it. Don’t over think it mama Lisa you’ll be fine

So your leg looks like an allergic reaction, I get that same issue with cinnamon, and certain medications I've had. Usually when that happens you are supposed to call your doctor ASAP so they can change the medication you are on! It can end up worse if you just keep taking it... Just a heads up for next time you're on something and you start to get a rash when you take any kind of meds!!! Fell better mama Lisa!! Also I miss the "Q me" love youuu

My husband took went to the ER for a fever 2 years ago & they gave him Penicillin & he got an allergic reaction the bottom of his feet were covered in blisters he has the type of rashes mama Lisa had all over his legs and arms & his skin on both his feet and hands peeled so bad like thick layers of skin was peeling off like a banana he was on bed rest for like 3 months is was horrible
