Its a usual age old concept/story for audience from outside India especially in western side. But when the movie came out in Kerala India it was somewhat of a refreshing concept especially exploring the social constructs and ideas of gender, relationships etc pushing the boundaries, normalizing certain aspects of above things. You have to have an insider perspective of the culture to understand the nuances.

Happy Birthday 🎉 Sad but understandable why you didn't enjoy the movie. To start with the movie is sort of a love letter to Bangalore city. Bangalore as a city has been for the longest time a city where dreams come true for many youngsters. There are certain references that maybe lost for example the music that plays when kuttan meets Meenakshi is from their previous film. The movie really did capture the capture the cousin relation well for many of us. Anyway it's alright I'd suggest om Shanti oshana. It's a simple innocent story of a girl falling in love. But the beauty of the movie is the comedy and how well nazriya (divya from this movie) plays the role. It is a comfort movie that i go back to a lot.

18:29 it is a reference to another movie in which they acted together called thattathin marayathu which became a hit among the youngsters. There is a famous dialoge in the movie, it is said here as well. Even the BG music that plays every time they see each other is from that movie. I think you will probably like that movie more. Its a just a lovestory and is quite funny. This movie has a lot of cultural references. It's just an entertaining movie and a feel good one and it was an hit among the audience when it was released. There are a lot of movies like this centered around the life of the characters. There is no specific story for these movies. Their everyday life, ups and downs, love, heartbreak etc will be the heart of the story (eg: June, thannirmathan dinangal, premam). I understand your feelings. Personally it is one of my favs. In this movie itself there are a lot of dialogues and context that we as mallus are used to, understand and enjoy. And subtitles mostly don't do any justice 😅 Still love your videos and reactions ❤ Also funfact: Fahad Fazil(Das) and Nazriya(Divya) are a couple. They got married after this movie.

Happy birthday brother. it's like a slice of life movie the concept may be old for western audience. But for people who lives here relate to it more coz of family cousins most of us project ourself in the shoes of the characters. It deals with individual struggles they go through the society. I felt more relatable to arjun whenever he gets angry and wanting to prove himself. I like your honest views about the film. Keep rocking man

Cultural and other references matters to love this movie. Kerala people love this movie. I love this movie. This is the movie which gives some positive energies and its a feel good movie for kerala people. Maybe this is not your kind of film to understand. Watch the genre of movies or style of movies that you love the most, instead of choosing random films. If you want character driven movie, then go for that type of movies. Have you watched any movie with Mammotty sir (who is known as the megastar of malayalam industry)? He has won three National Awards for the best actor. I think you should check his movies. And he is the father of Dulquer Salman (one who played the character of Arjun in this movie). I'd recommend movie named "Rorschach" to start with(one of his latest movies).

And bro don't you think IMDb rating does not define a movie like thallumala Lucifer , agent Sai & this movie have good IMDb rating but you didn't like them. I would recommend you some movies have low IMDb rating but whenever I see these movies reaction on KZfaq everyone enjoyed them such as Chennai express, ra one , and brahmastra. And just watch brahmastra part 1 trailer on KZfaq you will find it attractive and exciting
