Isn’t it funny how negatively people react to giving a simple compliment to Caitlin? I agree with you - she brought so much to the game and it wasn’t just her athletic ability. She’s done nothing to deserve such hateful comments. I can’t make sense of it. There is an agenda somewhere- I’m not interested in it- I’m here for the game.

I hate the fact that they have to sit here with tears in their eyes, and take questions like "how does it feel to lose" MF'r how do you think it feels. Listen I get these sport reporters have a job to do, but I think giving the losing team more time to compose themselves isn't too much to ask. I am a LSU fan ever since my daughter wanted to go there, and applied, so I am happy and proud that they won, but this girl CC is a beast, and she has nothing to be upset about. You have indeed left a legacy.

Iowa put up a hell of a fight. They hung in and even showed perseverance. I was rooting for lsu but damn Iowa much respect. Clark really is changing the game for women’s college basketball and reminds me of Diana taurasi in a way. Congrats to lsu but hats off to Iowa. They played good ball and they have some sharp shooters, Clark gonna be a hall of famer. On that note, I’m not mad at angel for her trash talk. It happens in the men’s game if it was me I would’ve done the same. It’s a competitive sport and that’s how you get down whether it’s Lebrom, Candace, curry, or swoops. Thank you both for an entertaining championship 💪🏾it’s crazy cause this is the direction Kobe was going in (with women’s basketball) and it’s sad he couldn’t contribute more due to his and all the other families untimely demise, especially with his daughter. Women’s basketball is trending up. Ticket sales for them are more than men. Viewership is more for women than men…ijs

For those who are crying about the technical foul...Iowa was issued a warning in the 3rd quarter for a delay of game for hitting the ball out of bounds after they scored. By rule, if it happens again, a technical foul is called on the next player that does it. It just happened to be Caitlin.

Hawkeye fan here- absolutely incredible game from LSU. That had to be one of the all time great performances. You rarely see shotmaking like that at any level. Extremely proud of the Hawks. Another incredible performance by a team that is revolutionizing women’s basketball. They lost with class and grace and stayed that way off the floor. But also let women talk some shit without jumping all over them! Clark, Reese, etc are making the game more fun with demonstrative on court demeanors. If you’re going to drool over Michael Jordan’s shrug or “I took that personally” competitiveness don’t hate on the ladies when they do it.

The peanuts gallery that we are are now the guardian of atheticum correctness ? Give me a break. Up until today you have dozens of videos celebrating Larry Bird beeing a famous trash talker and suddently a young women making just a little mockery gesture is an issue ? For who ? Caitlin was finally called for pushing off. She does it most of the time she is dribbling and she has gotten away with it. So now when the refs call it now everybody is shocked. Her coached should have seen that and stopped it years ago. Those are senseless fouls. The refs were not the best. But she got a T for delay of game. Because it’s that National game don’t mean you don’t call fouls. Don’t foul don’t tap the ball to cause a delay. They learn that in high school and definitely should have learned it their freshman year. The refs learned early that they are not a part of the game but to keep the game honest. The refs are not a part of the game. Iowa game against SC was horrible officiating. They didn’t complain about that because they won. The refs didn’t beat them LSU was scoring. They couldn’t double and triple team the best player like they did against SC because LSU had shooters they didn’t know nothing about.

This is only the second time I’ve watch the Women’s National College Basketball Championships since 1995 when UC won it with Rebecca Lobo. This Iowa team was unbelievable today and what they had to go through with the referees, the TV commentators obvious opinions on who they wanted to win. But, but if this team was given the right referee it would have been another outcome. When I was watching the Iowa team mishandled the South Carolina team I knew that it was going to be a great game for Iowa. So I decided to wait after the game was played. I’ve played basketball while in the Marine Corps and I had coached and ref also. So watching these young ladies play their heart and soul for each other can only mean one thing to me…. It’s their coach and how the respect goes both ways. Coach to players, players to coach. Stand tall and proud Iowa Ladies Basketball Team. Because you deserve much more than you think. We + 6 Million people who watched you throughout this tournament is a true testament of your character and your loyalty to your school, your coach and to each other. Go HAWKEYES!

Bluder should be coach of the year. Mulkey and Staley and Auriemma are media and endorsement stars while Bluder looks like a middle school principal. But she did a tremendous job coaching this team. Yes she had a superstar in Clark but if you look at their team all the other teams in the final four had much more overall size and overall athletic ability. Bluder taught the right skills and had very good in game strategy and got her team to all buy in. It takes a great coach to recognize she lucked in to a superstar and to give her the total green light and setup a system where the player and the team can thrive. Iowa had a core group of seniors that were tremendous playing their hearts out. I really thought in the South Carolina game Bluder's coaching staff told the players no matter what I don't want any complaints to the officials, I will do the complaining, you just move on to the next play, don't waste one second complaining. It really seemed like that they were so locked into every play.

Why would she be coach of the year. She didn't even congratulate the winners. And she said her plan for the fourth quarter was to just count on Clark. Do u know how irresponsible as a college coach to rely on one player and to say it?

Not trying to be that guy but she said those 2 seniors didn’t deserve to be on the bench at the end of the game with foul trouble. They called the game close but they knew that and you have to adjust. By the way Iowa 18 fouls LSU 17.

But everybody in these comments is calling her (Blunder) a Class-act, but Class doesn't low-key complain about unfairness and what she thought her 2 seniors didn't deserve by sitting on the bench at point in the game. LSU had 3 starters on the bench at key moments of the game. It's amazing how the amnesia set-in about that during her tearful speech. GTFOH!!

Now there's a problem with the officiating didn't have a problem with the officiating against South Carolina. I'm not mistaken Aliyah Boston went to the bench with two quick fouls in the first quarter of that game. If I'm not mistaken both teams shot almost the same amount of free throws and both got whistled for about 19 fouls. Didn't Angel Reese go to the bench in the first quarter with two quick fouls?

Total Class interviews. No question LSU shot lights out, but let's be honest, the officiating was a factor in this game and it hurt Iowa more so than LSU. LSU may very well still have won with a better called game, but we never truly know. It is a shame. That said, what a great season for the Iowa Women.....and LSU. Maybe they will play again down the road. Also, what with the LSU player hounding Caitlin at the end of the game.....or the stomach and face slap at Molly by another LSU player? Not classy.

@@cherylmcarthur5372 first, that’s SC, not LSU. A mild hand wave gesture that CC did was blown way out of proportion. SC eventually made them pay for it because they did hit some after that. If you want to compare AR’s copying of the you can’t see me to CC’s against Van Lith, that’s not a proper comparison. First, Van Lith and CC were roommates and teammates, there is a certain level a shit talk that just goes with that. Friends always shit talk each other anymore, it seems. Van Lith started it and CC ended it. CC had a bigger game that night. CC didn’t exactly run up to her face and do the gesture in her face. It was also during the flow of the game. AR, however, did this to the person who scored the most points in the game and she ran up on her to do it and point to the ring she was basically guaranteed as it was the game’s end. They were also never teammates. That is a lot more shitty of a deal than the minor hand waive that CC did against SC and not even close to comparable with the Van Lith incident. Then, when you go to post game interviews, CC gives credit where credit due and tries to mellow out and shift the focus to the teams and not herself. AR runs her mouth a lot. Where’s our rings being the first thing said is a little messed up. She’s also danced the Griddy during the middle of a game against Michigan in the tournament. Talk about disrespect. To be clear, I hate all shit talking. Sportsmanship has gotten absolutely pathetic in the men’s and women’s games. I personally blame professionals.

I played the game in college. The refs called the game fair. U can't throw the ball at the refs. Kate was saying f U R. And they called a T. It was the right call. The center moves her feet on that pick and roll and don't get called fouls for it. She elbos as well in the face when she gets the ball in the paint. U can't do that. But she been getting away with it. LSU was hitting 3rs as well. Refs didn't have nothing to do with+ them loosing. They lost. Period. Mulky is great coach. Go LSU🎉😂😊

People seem to forget that fouls are part of the game that's why you have to have a deep bench to step up when players get in foul trouble. There were many offensive holding fouls that weren't called as well as moving picks. The bottom line was team depth Iowa didn't have it.

I will say straight up that I am a South Carolina fan thru and thru. We lost to Iowa, I get that. A game that was billed the best offense against the best defense did not occur because the officials intervened. I really hate to hear Iowa complain about their two seniors having to sit out because of fouls and the technical. Perhaps their memory is short that Aliyah Boston and Brea Beal sat out significant minutes in the first half because of "aggressive officiating." Had they let them play, it would have been an all SEC final without question. They didn't, I get it and we will all (Carolina and Iowa) have to live with it. That said, Caitlin Clark is the best pure shooter and facilitator I have ever seen play. She makes Iowa what they are and it is fun to watch. I know not all Iowa fans will like my comments, but let's just all agree that the officiating in the Final Four games was ATROCIOUS, not even close to the level of play of the great teams. This needs to be fixed!
