@@HannahDisponett No need to be sassy. Are you saying that the sentence contains a dangling modifier and that, although it claims that "this lady" is "an LSU graduate," what is really meant is that the writer of the sentence is an LSU graduate? Sometimes winning isn't about the game, it's about how you played it. Ladies, you made an indelible mark in the history and future of women's basketball. You won that trophy and it's a big one. You fulfilled your purpose. That is the prize you need to keep in mind. We are proud of you. You did what no other team did.

sometimes winning isn't about the championship it's about making it to the championship game so that state farm can get the ratings to make money off the one player they paid for in that particular game. It's not about SC-IOWA... it's about the last 9 seconds of IOWA-UCONN where the refs knew they had to stop UCONN or else state farm would pull the plug on ESPN.

@@taijoneemagee6221 Her team isn't deep. She didn't trust the bench in that situation. SC is a suffocating #1 defense in the nation. So the way she did load management was leave 22 in all game but just let her stand around on defense so she could save her strength in those skinny arms for desperation heaves. That plan works sometimes so she went with it.

@@slimydick23 look dick, if that's your name, great offensive players can't be wasting up a lot of energy playing defense. Yes you can play some, but when you are out there on the outside in a guard position you're running around a lot way more way out at the top of the key. And if you're using up your energy doing that, you're not going to be able to lead the team averaging 30 points a game like she did all season. There's just a give and take when you have a obvious all-time great like her. You don't have to agree with me that's just my opinion. Players like that cannot be wasting up their energy on defense. They're running the floor on offense and creating and getting off screens to shoot the ball or dishing out to help her team score and win. You have to be real now

I'm not a basketball coach or player, but I was surprised they played their starters almost the entire game. Four did play the entire game. South Carolina used their bench a lot. Great season regardless.

Coach B. was spot on. No treasure, regardless of how it shines is worth more than the journey searching for it, Iowa's run captivated a nation, that wave hasn't yet crested, there are kids that lived in this moment with these young ladies from Iowa, and LSU, UConn, USC (both of them ;) ) WVU and all the other teams in a way not seen in years. when they are wearing the jerseys in a decade or so remember, this legacy belongs to you, and its a far greater thing than any trophy.

@@slimydick23 yes, and the players on those teams as well as those who didnt win but played hard will i hope make up the core of a new wave in the WNBA as well as inspire the kids who dream of wearing a jersey like that one day.

@@mikeholton3914 I think it was Kawhi who was asked at a media availability if there's another rule he would like added to NBA. He said what did other guys suggest? And they said guys are suggesting a 5 point line. He responded...hell no people already don't play the fundamentals.

@@slimydick23 the guys gave up on the fundamentals years ago, hell i doubt they could get through a game without travelling. its just boring as hell to watch, i started watching the girls play because they play a much more pure game. now i see fools out there suggesting lowering the rim to 8 ft for girls so they can all dunk. its just ignorant.

Don’t forget to celebrate that we got here that’s a powerful significant statement. So many coaches miss that point it’s not that they didn’t try as hard as they could but they just came up against a more talented team hell they beat the previous NC LSU to get there

ok, so just my observation: as the last two tourneys progressed, you could see the physical toll it was taking on CC. She was up and hard and driving and essentially unstoppable earlier on. But the day in and day out and another game and another game.... it just put a huge strain on her. Her strength was sapped. The reason the team was able to go as far as they did was that the TEAM was chock full of remarkable athletes with huge hearts. They worked together as a team, and although CC had records, she was constantly setting up opportunities for her besties to shine. Had she been at full strength (IMO), it might well have been a different picture. After all, the final score with SC (not to take anything away from them, they're absolutely awesome) might have been something entirely different. Ten games earlier, CC was tossing threes nearly from half court like it was tossing pebbles in a wishing well. As she tired, her ability for nothing but net started to falter. Coach is right: this team did more for ladies' BB than anyone else has ever done. I'm willing to bet whether it's Ice Cube's league or the WNBA that lands CC, ladies BB has entered a new era of viewership.

Not to mention setting viewership records. You ( Hawkeyes Basketball) put Women's college basketball back in the limelight, forefront, whatever you want to call it. No one can Ever take that away. People paid premium to see you play. You handled it with grace. Never hang your head for your season. I bet every other team in D1 wanted the opportunity you earned not once but 2 times in a row. Prepare for the next phase in your life. If you use the energy you used to get where you were in the rest of your life, the sky is the limit. Always remember that. Take pride in the joy gave countless fans rooting for you. May God bless and keep you with him always.
