i totally agree 100% no matter peck rut if you see a coyote take it out... it's better to kill a coyote and save young fawns... i was never a believer til one season early spring and i walked my friends 60acre land and i saw 4 dead fawns mutilated bodies by coyotes since then i started killing every coyotes i see...

I love the true explanation and purpose of a "deer drive" at the beginning of the video! As a hunter, I see the sense in a deer drive, but let's call it what it is! For the anti-hunters, G&F Departments have special herd culling hunts from time to time in game management.

Cool video. Just to point a few things out for some looking to learn more about deer hunting. The bare spots on the ground are called scrapes. The deer often urinate in them, but the most important part of a scrape is the overhead branch ( usually broken) It is usually about head level and they lick and rub the top of their heads on it (which have glands and secrete scent on it) to communicate with other deer in the area. Beds look like you curled up in a ball and smashed the ground down for an hour or two. Often they are found in tall grass, as it helps to block the wind. Other times they could be in the open woods with thick cover or another obstruction on one side and an open view on the other. Rubs are where bucks have taken the bark off of trees usually around knee height. Many times they will be on the same trees as scrapes or along a wood line in a row. They could also be found seemingly in random spots in the woods. Big bucks and small bucks can rub small trees but only big bucks can make big rubs.

When you run drives the deer try to run with the wind in blowing into their faces. They like to get that nose in the wind and follow it out of danger. Knowing where the deer are bedding and how the wind is blowing you can almost predict the way they’re going and set up for em.

I am glad you listened to me! Yes, yelling just gives you away. Much better drives. You need to move forward on your stand where you shot the doe and missed the buck first day. Move up 50 yards. they are kicking out early and if you move up you can keep them in the drive.

Yeah, don't sweat the coyote thing. Everyone hunts the way they want to. One though, the deer don't bed in their scrapes. The bucks will pee in them so they don't bed in them. Great to see the wildlife and signs they leave in the woods. Any pheasants?

That first scrape you called a deer bed it’s a scrape all the deer in the area use them it’s mainly used for estrus so the buck know when they are ready.. sometime if a morning and late afternoon heck ive seen em in the mid day your will sometime if you set close by and catch a buck or doe freashing it and checking it..but put a trail camera on it and you will see what all deer you have in the area...enjoyed the video as always hope y’all get a big one.. as well as how has y’all’s weather been here in nc Wednesday for the first time this year the high will be 36 I’m pretty excited for hunting. It’s got cold at night some down to 27 but like right now at 10:45pmbits 56 freaking insane weather this year most times we have already had snow.

Fun to watch your hunting videos since you are hunting in my neighborhood. How did you guys end up doing. When I talked to some of your group on Tuesday, I think you had eight total. I didn't see much at my place either. I shot one doe during bow season...never saw a buck this year. Never mind the haters about the coyote. There is plenty of time to hunt them after deer season. I wouldn't have shot him either under the same circumstances. It made for some pretty cool video though.
