QUOTING SUE P. BECKWITH, MD, HEAD COACH LISA BLUDER
“We knew it was going to be a hard-fought game. They slowed the ball down and did a good job at that, but our defense in the second half was really good, especially in the fourth quarter after they took the lead. Half time we talked about three-point defense, and they didn’t have a single three in the second half.”

I just love how Clark wheels and deals and spins around dribbling in the lane until she gets the shot, very few people can come off and help on her because they know that she will pass the assist to the open person. She's just my fave!

Perimeter shooting isn't there for Iowa yet. The officials missed a bunch of screens on both sides IMO. Lots of movement and arms in those screens.

Queen of Pushoff was at it again, and refs don't call it. Clark pushes off with the ball, without the ball and even on defense.

That was an enjoyable game. Congrats to Clark on breaking 3000! Congrats to Iowa team for being the undisputed champions of ... Iowa! Good game from the young Cyclones. I wonder what Brooks could do if she slims down some. Maybe has impaired endocrine system and should reduce intake of dietary estrogens found in seeds (coffee, tree nuts, peanuts, soy, other beans, anything that is a seed -- including ones commonly eaten in cucumbers, tomatoes, okra, etc, eat the rest of the veggie but avoid the seed intake).

Brooks does not need to lose any weight. She is an absolutely amazing athlete and uses her body type to its full potential. I don't understand why people are so obsessed with it. She is obviously in shape. Her father played basketball. She's got great genetics.

@@12345fowler I am not driven by greed. I am driven by love for others and the most wonderful feeling felt when you help others be safe from suffering and harm. That makes me a more reliable source on both easily researched as well as obvious scientific understandings than many doctors and certainly all the pharmaceutical companies that wine and dine those doctors and take them on junkets to tropical islands and offer fake "miracle" cures in pills and shots that if they don't kill you immediately then they will induce catastrophic illness (liver failure, heart disease, pancreatic cancer, etc) over time. If you trust the medical industry to tell you the truth, that is your choice but your snide jealous comments will not keep me from using my intelligence, compassion, and kindness to help individual others as well as the greater good. Estrogen promotes storage of body fat. Testosterone promotes production of muscle. These are well-established scientific facts. Seeds of any type promote production of estrogen in the body, whether male or female. Also scientific fact. Men and women with endocrine system impairment promoted by industrial pollution (also in the science) need to be their own primary caregivers on this issue because big pharma and corporate media and the pollution producing companies will not volunteer truth that the scientists are documenting.

@@jennahawk12 I am not in any way obsessed with Brooks nor anything about her. I am just a helpful person and truth is many people carrying excess body fat would like to be slimmer but are not fully educated on nutrition facts regarding the fat-promoting properties of estrogenic foods for people with impaired endocrine systems. If she is not interested in this information, she can ignore it but someone else in the audience could find it useful. It is a lifelong health issue for people and a daily quality of life issue, it is not just about how good a bb player a person can be. Many or most people with impaired endocrine systems do not know they have impaired endocrine systems and so do not know how it is affecting them nor how they can regulate their hormones through diet. I would never suggest for a female to try to go dietary estrogen intake free, but if you are female and eat healthy and exercise but are still storing abnormal amounts of body fat, then you may have an impaired endocrine system and may want to reduce your dietary estrogen intake. And yes, I do also know about "the obesity gene" -- I would guess it is a polymorphic gene (a gene that can determine a characteristic from a range of choices, in this case whether to store more or less body fat dependent upon the environment, like how animals grow thicker fur in the winter but shed it in warmer temperatures). People of lineages associated with extreme cold climates tend to store more body fat on average than people of other lineages. That could be a factor too for any number of people. So I guess it is good for any person to know his or her various ethnic lineages because those may determine some issues of body fat storage but our estrogen-rich environment from industrial pollution and unnecessary food additives is also culprit for a growing number of human beings. I have an impaired endocrine system myself and received a great graduate school education to be able to research and understand scientific information I find.

1. Her last name is Crooks. 2. She’s an elite athlete at the top of her sport at a Power 5 school. 3. She had a double-double in this game as well. She’s also a starter as a freshman. It’s best to leave the medical advice to licensed medical professionals. Comments like this not only perpetuate harmful beliefs about body size, shape, and overall “health”, but it’s also cruel and uninformed. Just enjoy the sport.
