Hey, you should listen to your daughter "maybe the battery's low" how adorable she is. Your thermal cam is a must have in the arsenals of a tech repair guy. I saw other guy injecting power and start touch and feel with his ten digits, and tongue 😛 around which takes time and not efficient.

Nice job using thermal camera! I was wondering if one would work good for small components! The place I used to work at used thermal cameras to find any “hot spots” on 480V 3 phase MCCs (breakers)... some up to 1200A! When those heat up enough/are loose enough, they don’t do little pits/arcs...THEY LITERALLY BLOW UP! Had a arc/short due to failed insulation on a huge connector for the 850kW generator blast a small jet of plasma through steel panel which my heart was 3” from not 5 seconds before it happened! God said “not today!” ... Got 3 boys from 9 to 16 in age, and a 12 yr old daughter! ♥️cherish EVERY moment with your beautiful, precious little girl!♥️. For they do not stay little for very long, although they melt their daddy’s hearts forever! ♥️

In apple there is nothing called "heating, heatgun, soldering" For iPads, only whole device replacement is available.

ما شاء الله ، your daughter is adorable One question / advice i want to ask is . Here in India short killer box are available 1v-5v 20 amp output . When a motherboard is full shorted they connect -ve to ground and +ve to +ve via terminal . What it does is that it will burn the cap which is fully shorted . Hence that cap will be replaced / removed . Just want to know your opinion , is this useful tool ? ( Thermal camera is way much more better than this ) .

Heat is coming from around over here and that camera cost close to $600, even simple alcohol or lighter fluid will pinpoint exactly what chip is heating up.

I found that the Tristar tester has cold solder joint in the motherboard side of the usb connector just pop it open and re solder the joints this will fix some of the issues you are experiencing

i have an iphone 6, it was just sudden that when wifi is on it overheats and drain the battery, the overheat message will pops out and you could feel the area where the back camera is as super hot

probably not a fair comparison, Apple service center probably could never afford those kind of thermal camera by them self hence they can't really figure out what's wrong with it. Eventhough they might find the problem but Apple service centers are being highly restricted to provide spare-parts/replacement components for them to get; they need to go through complicated bureaucratic path which in the end they'll never get the component (linus had this experience before when his Apple LCD screen gets cracked and he explain it all). So probably it'd be easier for Apple service center to toss the device and get a new one. I really enjoy your videos on repairs, taught me a lot from the other side of the planet.
