Pad 9 is awesome. It offers the best balance of price and performance, and it can do most of the things that the more expensive iPad Pro can do-such as pair with a Smart Keyboard or Apple Pencil-even though it's smaller and its screen isn't as good. Off topic, you are very good looking.

Yes I’m still rocking the 8th gen and it’s practically the same, I love it, I do my daily bullet journal there, download some Netflix episodes to watch offline at work while I’m eating, it’s lighter to bring in my backpack to write homework for school to type a pages document or word, come home and watch KZfaq, for what I use it for, still works amazing the only thing I would upgrade it for, it’s for the memory, 32gb it’s just not enough sometimes, with 64gb I could get by pretty sure

“iPad 9” I’ve always been a huge fan of the iPads. In my household we have 6 total! One iPad 9, one 4th gen, two mini 5s, a pro 12.9 and a mini 6! The 9 is plenty powerful for most people. I dig it! Great video man!

Agreed. Best iPad for most people. And the same centre stage selfi camera on the iPad Pro is great for someone like myself who works from home on zoom. Just not sure whether to wait to see what the iPad 10 will be.

I got my parents the iPad 9 cellular for Christmas and they LOVE it. It's perfect for their lifestyle, business and learning curve ability. It's bigger than their iPhone 6s' and does everything they need esp. for on-the-go type work for the business. I purchased the iPad mini 6 cellular for my on the go work and it's perfect. It goes to show that different iPad's work for different people for different things. But in general, there is an iPad for everyone to enjoy and use efficiently! #iPad9

That basic iPad is huge value, but.. if you want to use pencil and keyboard, new design iPads offer better solutions, especially that Apple pencil 1 charging is really wierd. But much better than Android tablets with same pricepoint. I switched to Air, but 8th gen is still in daily use, my Wife like it to watch movies in bad more than laptop.

I currently have the iPad 9 just got it for school and I absolutely love it, I can take it to school and do all my assignments, it way more portable than my Mac book and the bezels don’t bother me, And I love that because of them there’s the home button I love pressing it and being able to keep my mask on and not having to constantly pull my mask like my iPhone 11, I don’t even notice the bezels and in my opinion the screen is huge, and when it comes to the screen not being laminated I can’t tell the difference lol. Also the Apple Pencil is great for me I use the adapter to charge it and I just use my tablet case to keep us with it, as for the speakers on the bottom I t doesn’t bother me, the speakers are loud and there is a head phone jack that allows me to use my price headphones or AirPods. And since a cheaper iPad I was able to get the 256gb, for around the same price of as the 64gb air which isn’t enough for me.

Awesome 9th gen review! I’ve had the opportunity to try out a base model IPad 9, Air 5 and M2 Pro at home. While it’s a good deal more expensive, a base model Air 5 (with a discount) is the sweet spot between the 9 and the M2 Pro. The problem with the 9th gen is it’s already getting slow and buggy in its ui speed with iPadOS 16, and a lot of the new desktop-style features won’t come to it. If you can buy a base Air 5 with a discount, you’re getting a better display, better aftermarket stylus integration, better speakers, and a WAY more future-proof chip. Sure the battery doesn’t last quite as long as the 9 (it’s still really good) but the Air 5 is 30W compatible like the Pro, so it charges faster than the 9, and has better accessory support with the USB C port. Since you’re not getting additional storage, having better hardware to use is key here.

So I am convinced the basic ipad 9th gen is good enough for my needs for note taking and college stuff, especially since everything is over ppt now! I am still torn between which pencil to get, the logitech crayon is cheaper but only $20-25 less. If the apple pencil 1 is the ideal choice then I dont mind the extra money but ONLY if its that much better. Again, dont need it for art, just note taking/annotating ppt and pdf and stuff like that.

How about editing 30 minutes long 4k resolution video on lumafusion with lots of transitions text and effects? Could still do the job?

Good review. I think you're mistaken about the Crayon, though. From what I've read about it, you can get thicker lines by tilting the pen as you write. So, not pressure sensitive, but tilt sensitive.
