iPad Pro M1 & Davinci Resolve - Very Impressive Performances with 6K 10bit H.265 video files!

Hi Guys! In todays video I'll share my first impressions of DaVinci Resolve (Free Version) on the Ipad Pro 2021 (M1 Chipset). The first idea that came in my mind was to test the super compressed, but great, 6K 4:2:0 H.265 files from my Panasonic Lumix S1....and the IPad Pro handled them extremely well 99% of the time! I think that this is simply revolutionary and I can't wait to see Black Magic Design adding more pages inside DaVinci Resolve for IPad Pro. I would love to see the Fairlight and Fusion pages!
Apparently I've disabled the top video track, with the information about the render time. Sorry about it!
To render a 6K 10bits 4:2:0 H.265 to 4K H.264 the iPad pro M1 needed 50 seconds, for 42 sec video final video (with some effects and animated texts), and it needed 45 sec, for a 1 minute video( without effects or animated texts). Cheers!

Thanks Luca! Do you think the use of pen and color wheels makes it more intuitive to do color corrections and masking, or would you prefer the tangent / resolve micro panels for that?

What happens to battery life if you keep the ipad pro connected to a power source?

I see great potential for the iPad version. I am also working on a MacBook pro, but there are many times I don't have the option to whip out a laptop. what if I just want to do some edit, sort through the source material, do a quick grader here and there. I can do that in bed on my iPad. And if the projects are set up with cloud, I can just continue where I left off when I get back to the MacBook.

I’ve been watching your content for a while :) just subscribed. I tested resolve a bit earlier this week and I suggest you bring back the edit page as well in the workspace settings. Command+shift+k or was it command+alt+k? Don’t remember

How big of a file is a minute of 6k open gate?

All the pages of davinci resolve on the desktop is available on iPad, you just need to option+command+K, and set the shortcut keys for each of those pages, and use the shortcuts you’ve set up to unhide those pages.

Really? How is that? Did they not completely rewrite the software for M1 and thus wouldn't have included the other pages yet? If they are available, I guess they actually are only emulating the software from x86_64 after all.

I have the M2 and I can't import 10 bit video from my Lumix G9. Well I can but it doesn't let me watch it. 8 bit is fine... How did you get this to work???

I believe you need the paid version for 10 bit
