My only guess of why he’s programming the screen is to clear the non-original part message the device will show when the new part is installed; however, in the beginning of the video you can see that the old screen was also an Aftermarket part, which means regardless the device probably passed the 2 week timeframe of when that message leaves the settings. Regardless, the program means absolutely nothing in the long hall. If you run that device on apples AST2 diagnostics it’ll still come up as non-oem, but means very little in way of functionality and trade-in value. You don’t NEED to program any aftermarket screens, it’s actually more honest of a business not too, cause that then allows you to pass that part of as OEM original when it’s not

@@relaxwell8605 He copies the serial number from one of the chips on the screen to the new screen so the true tone function of the iphone does not get lost. You will still get a non genuine display message (IP 11 and above) because the serial number the iphone checks for that is encrypted and on a different chip on the display. Some places don't progam the new screen because honestly, most iphone users don't even know what true tone is 😂

Everyone should program the screen if it has true tone.. otherwise you dont need to program it if the screen is a second hand from same model of iphone
