Ive had A71 for a year. It's a great phone. Aesthetically, it looks so 2020 compared to iphone's big front camera bezel which is completely an eyesoar.

Bought a Samsung Galaxy A71, 128gb, micro SD expansion, fast charger, case, screen protector, Snapdragon 730, dual SIM card, headphone jack, for $350.00. Point made. Apple takes great pride ripping off their base.

Here's a pretty specific question for anybody that might know; How does the A71 5G speaker compared to that of the LG G6 when video streaming (Netflix/KZfaq). I'm talking about the sound regular talking watching a show, not necessarily some profound music audio listening. I got used to be double speakers on my LG v40, but it went belly-up so I'm temporarily back on my G6 and for my purposes I like the single bottom firer just fine. But if the A71 speaker tends to be a little tinny or scratchy or so forth for videos I may just have to go with the s20 FE. But I'd rather save the $300. Currently (12-16-20) the T-Mobile version of the phone is directly available from Samsung for $375 ($600 in the T-Mobile store without other deals) or $400 for the Verizon version Both for much less if you have a qualifying trade in.

The notch doesn't bother me at all. Especially since it is a smarter unlock that won't work if your eyes aren't open (for instance, it can't be unlocked if someone holds it up to your face while sleeping)

Like you said the A series is the mid range but the samsungs that have always gone head to head with IPhone is the S series I actually have the 5G version from Tmobile and its great no complaints I got it on promotion for $300 and Tmobile is paying the other $300 so its total cost was $600

I am an iphone 13 user, People who cant afford iphone would always say its bad, but honestly iphone is great has great performance, constant 60 fps, mild heating, no lag at all, great camera, great stability, and very good batter performance, my earlier phone was samsung a71 which is a total bullshit

For a cheaper phone the Samsung a71 phone is amazing! I own the iPhone 12 Pro Max as well and I much prefer the cheaper Samsung phone. I use my Samsung 2 days sometimes before I have to charge it, and I use it lots!

I have the iPhone XR and A71 Samsung and the iPhone is hands-down much better speaker system then the Samsung but the Samsung A71 offers sound testing that the iPhone doesn’t, like the equalization options.

I am switching from an A71 to iphone 11 or 12, I have been waiting sooo long for the android 12 update on my a71 but I didn't get it, i'm tired of android's way of polishing things, I will switch to ios for the time being.

I just purchased the a71 5g and I'm so happy with it. I believe its one of the best price to performance mid range models out there. High end flag ship phones are not worth the extra costs in my opinion.

I understand the iphone 12 is built a beast and will destroy both of the Samsung A71's in all tests. I actually own the original A71, and I love the phone, it has good camera's, and does everything I need it to just fine.

The A71 is a good phone, but with serious drawbacks. Beautiful big screen, good audio, and pretty snappy performance. Almost too good for a mid range phone, but if you look a little deeper, the weaknesses start to appear. First, the phone has a super violent vibrate that was startling me and others near me. This is nothing to do with the settings, it's just like that. Seriously, the A71 has much worse vibration than my ancient 2011 HTC Legend phone (yes I pulled it out of the storage to compare). How is that possible? I'd like to hear more about vibration and haptics experiences from others. Camera is so-so, IMHO just ok for a mid ranger costing 600-700aud and considerably weaker than many contemporary Chinese phones of the same price range, and a lot worse than the old 2017 flagship Pixel 2. Lots of strange artefacts, especially with low light photography. Close ups are its strong point, otherwise, photos in general tend to have a strange water-colouring effect when zoomed in a bit, with other artefacts such as ringing around objects. The fingerprint reader is hit and miss, but something you'd expect on a mid-ranger. Laggy performance started after several software updates over 10 months or so. EDIT: After resetting the phone and all the data, this issue seems to have been resolved.
