Seriously thought that step two was a joke, but i really worked. My phone is up and running again. I did download and installed a software update last night and when i woke up this morning to check my phone it gave a black screen of death, went through the whole day without a phone and when i came home started youtubing. I’ve come to this page a couple different times because my husband and I have had issues with both of our 13 pro max phones. The “volume up, then volume down & hold power button” method worked for us. Whether it was an all black screen, or a super enlarged screen that won’t minimize or an incredibly loud siren coming from the phone, this thankfully fixed all issues. I have this video saved for future reference. It’s been a life saver! 🙏 Please don’t ever remove this video! 😅

It finally worked, I agree with one of the comments, we spend way too much money on these little pocket computers to deal with this. I woke up this morning with the black screen. I am leaving town tomorrow for 2 weeks, but did not immediately panic because my husband's iPhone 14 ProMax did this a few months ago, and the reset method worked for him. However, even after I watched several videos demonstrate how to do this power re-set technique, this method did NOT fix my black screen. I tried it a dozen+ times with no response, even after doing the two 30 minute wait periods letting the phone "charge" (as Apple instructs). I booked a Genius Bar appt for this afternoon. Decided to watch additional videos, to see if there was a tip I had somehow missed, and Viola! I watched your video! I noticed how you touched the volume buttons differed slightly from the other videos I watched. So, I did it EXACTLY like you did, and FINALLY, this time, my phone came back to life. I couldn't believe it. For my iPhone 14 Pro black screen re-boot to work, it came down to just barely touching the volume buttons AND touching those volume buttons quickly, then holding down the power button for a long time, before releasing the power button. Never thought I could be so happy to see that white Apple symbol appear. I really did try this re-boot method multiple times with no result, and my phone never ran out of battery life before the black screen appeared, so there was no obvious cause for the black screen. It just seemed to appear out of nowhere. I cannot thank you enough for your video demonstration! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

First step worked for me! Screen was black - half of a little thinking star would appear and then go away - did the first step restart and it all came right back on! Never knew about the 3-button restart method. So good to know! Thank you!

Apple replaced my first one and I had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow for my 2nd one. The first trick didn't work, but the second one pushing the power button several times did the trick. Fantastic video. I had to keep trying the methods to eventually get it up and running. The only thing I would warn against is spamming the lock button (if you know your phone is on). I tried this and it immediately called 911 through the emergency mode. Thanks for the vid!

My iPhone 13 Mini turned off for almost 1.5 hours even with 50% battery. Tried all the steps in the video. The freezer technique worked 😅 Thanks! Update: This technique only temporarily worked for my phone. It froze and shut off again. Force restart didn’t work as well. I had to give it to Apple Services.

Unbelievable! My phone was working fine 3 hours ago. Then went to pick it up from the Magsafe charger and it was completely DEAD. Black screen. No response. Did not work with a reset (volume up, volume down, hold the power button for 30 seconds), I tried several cables - nope. I watched several videos on KZfaq and nothing worked. Some of them were recommending a complete reset via a DFU reset - which would have erased ALL my data. (Besides, that wouldn't work anyway, because Finder did not recognize my phone.) BUT I got to the part of your video where you mentioned that the power button might have been somehow stuck...and VOILA! I got the Apple logo on screen! YOU ARE A MIRACLE WORKER! Thank you so much. I am now backing up my daughter's band's show from last night...And I'll go buy something from your affiliate list. Thanks so much !

My daughter has a 6 month 14+ iphone. We have tried ALL the above methods and we keep getting a black screen NOTHING has worked and we are on our third try. No it did not get damaged either. It was working went to the bathroom came back the screen was black & has stayed black. Guess what it worked the third time AFTER I left it in the freezer for a half and hour got it out and did the hold up and down then when I held the power button the apple logo finally showed up and it came back on! Best part my daughter who was yelling, having a fit, wanting me to drive in a snowstorm to Verizon, was standing here watching me wondering what I was doing putting her phone in the freezer! We thought the freezer seemed a bit much.. but after trying everything and no luck, we attempted the freezer for 15-20 min and then ran the button sequence and it worked.. thank you!
