Thank you! Even if does, shooting log just to avoid oversharpning is not an acceptable solution.

QUESTION: you repeatedly mentioned SOFTWARE deficiencies of IOS 17, but I wish you would enumerate them more clearly. I get that sharpening is a problem for you, what else needs improvement. Nadhera! I was waiting for your review. I have a question. Would you recommend to shoot also 12mpix RAWs in comparison to HEIF ? I feel 12mpix is fine for my needs (I have also 5D classic) but I really hate the oversharpening on iphones. So I'm wondering if 12 mpix will do. Vela stastia v tvojej tvorbe.

Ďakujem! I actually I haven't tried 12 MP RAW at all. If you have to bother with RAWs, using 48 MP for that detail is well worth it.

The new iPhone 15 Pro looks like a solid upgrade, the photo and video samples you captured looked great. But I think I will stay with my iPhone 14 Pro for now. Great video, and thanks for sharing.

Great video, thanks! I saw some pics and an articles that 48 MP HEIF Max files also has no oversharpening, just like RAW files..is this true?

Thank you! Partially, it is better than in non-max mode, but not on RAW level.

24 MP will be better in low light.

When you use low light it’s automaticly switch in 12mp you can’t do 24mp in low light mode

Thanks. You mentioned oversharpening several times but didn't mention shooting in Apple ProRes log format on videos which takes care of that. Did I miss that mention?

@@BCE-111 Log and RAW / ProRes capabilities of the 15 Pro are great, but the problem is that are way too difficult to work with for the general public. People who actually know how to work with them properly already have DSLM cameras that vastly surpass 15 Pro capabilities, so real-world benefits of very Pro features on the 15 Pro are somewhat questionable.

@@TheHybridShooter Obviously shooting in Apple ProRes log format isn't for point and shoot general public folks. But I for one will be using that format at times for videos and just intend to use my iPhone 15 Pro Max and have no intention on purchasing a DSLM camera. Yes they have larger sensors, etc., but they're also quite bulky and don't work well in a lot of circumstances. Thanks for sharing.

Seeing as how Gopro gives the option to turn down sharpening, I see no reason why IPhone can't do the same...

That won't happen, it would be against Apple's philosophy of figuring things out for the customer. They kind of let you do that by allowing you to shoot RAW.

I find the ommision of even mention of the ability to shoot video in log very strange. Along with that comments stating that nothing has changed in video department since the last model. This is the biggest change. Many call it a game changer. You say nothing?

I said that I will cover ProRes in a separate video. Nevertheless, Log has been available on iPhone for many years. If somebody wants to shoot Log, doing so with iPhone is generally a bad idea.

@@TheHybridShooter it's not true the log has been available on iPhone ever before. Some apps offered their own profiles that they called log but the transfer to "log" was happening in the processing pipeline after iPhone applied it's awfully processing like tone mapping, sharpening etc. This time around this is a true log profile and the video is mostly unprocessed in any destructive sense. I have downloaded some samples and played with them. The difference is tremendous. I can match the colour and sharpness of my Sony cameras no problem. It's the greatest thing that happened to video shooting on iPhone. Full stop.

@LiveMyJourneyTom Not really, SnR just isn’t there, but I will talk about in a separate video. Regardless, log is a very niche feature, even more so on an iPhone, so vast majority of users will still get 12 Pro video experience.

In fact looking at the main camera the SnR is pretty amazing. 12.2 stop on sloped based DR on 0.5 medium up to about ISO 1150 and 13.2 after that... You say it isn't there. Btw you mentioned nothing about log profile unless this is what you meant when you said something about raw recording...

@@TheHybridShooter come on. Even the 13 Pro had vastly improved dynamic tone mapping. I still own the 12 pro max and the video is simply atrocious. It's so bad it makes me cry a little each time I see something I've recorded.
