Ever since I got the Pixel 8 Pro I have watched many reviews on it. I realized that just about every review talks about the same stuff. Not much different. The camera, the AI software, the battery, and the display. Not much more than that. Overall I love this Pixel 8 pro!

I can accept that the consensus is that the iPhone takes better video, but I take 50 photos for every 1 video recorded. Everytime I show my Pixel photos to people, mostly iPhone owners, they are blown away. And with the new camera AI on the Pixel, it's an easy choice for me. If you factor in the overall software features, the price difference, and the fact that the Google ecosystem isn't bad either, then I have to go with the Pixel 8 Pro.

Pixel 8 Pro is so amazing and so is the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I'd go with the Pixel 8 Pro. That's what I have now. The AI features are so useful to use throughout the day. Both cameras are just fine for most people. It's the software that takes the Pixel 8 Pro over the edge. If I was in the Apple ecosystem, the only option really is the iPhone unless all you use is a Macbook.

They're both great phones, but I have to go with the Pixel 8 Pro.

Wait CNET prefers an iPhone, shocker! Google just has some nice quality of life features that make it hard to switch. The Pixel 8 Pro camera has the best image pipeline for stills is just feels like there's life in the images versus the sharp clinical digitized look from most cell phones

Pixel 8 Pro because apart from everything you just said, it is the aspect ratio of the display and the hand feel. Apple doesn't understand ergonomics very well.

Funny thing is the Apple eco system is why I would never buy a apple phone as my personal phone. I migrate from samsung and roku TV, iPad, Fire tablet and Samsung phone all in one day with one pair of headphones. I can transfer a picture from my google account to all of my phones and tablets. I don't even think about using my iCloud acct. Yes iPods, apple watch, iPad Macbook, etc. all work seamlessly together. Keyword together. Throw in a PS5 and a Xbox, 😖. For me personally I would rather stay out of the ecosystem. (As I type this from a M1 mac mini.)

A superlative review, production and presentation. I would go with either the iPhone 15 Plus or iPhone 15 Pro Max. I've been on Android for years, but there's no reason to stay there after they dropped the 3.5mm jack and expandable storage. My 2020 LG V60 is still going strong and when needed, I'll have a battery installed. I really appreciate the 3.5mm jack, 32-bit Hi-Fi QuadDAC (which sounds so much better than anything Bluetooth) and expandable storage. Last Black Friday I picked up a Sandisk 1TB microSD card for $97.00.

I had all the latest iPhone i.e X, 11,12,13,14 and now 15 pro max. To sum it up, I went back to the pixel 8 pro. Something about its picture. Pixel photos recently won by the blind test by MKBD who tested 24 high end phones even the Sony new phone and iPhone 15 pro max. I just love how Google integrates all its app. Apple phones does however operate as smoothly but software integration and prowess

Same I like pixel 8 pro picture over the iPhone 15 pro max which I also have. Most top KZfaq reviewers have pixel 8 pro over iPhone 15 pro max. MKBHD did a blind test of 24 high end phones and pixel 8 pro and pixel 7 pro pictures came out the winner.

on that first teacup shot, did portrait mode really engage? sometimes if the pixel cant quite figure it out, it doesn't engage the effect. The Bokeh on that one feels more like the natural bokeh of that larger sensor up close. The iphone one looks great btw.

I will say that I’ve been a long time Google pixel user, with only my first iPhone 13 Pro Max for well over a year and a half now. The battery life is absolutely insane. Once you quickly get used to the apple eco system between AirPod pros, And the noticeable better quality of apps, it is nice. I keep on asking myself if there’s anything I honestly miss my old Google pixel phones - not as much as I thought it would be. I realize that Google still doesn’t understand dark mode to save their life even on iOS apps versus dark grey mode. But I can say I don’t missed my pixels too much from my pixels. When I had my Google pixels, android auto was horrible for me. CarPlay is fantastic. I’ve never actually had an issue using Siri and I tweaked optimize everything on my 13 Pro max for how are use it. 😊 I sometimes get the itch to try to customize my app icons similar to android icon pack and see, but a iOS takes way too long to make it out of the Shortcuts app, and it’s just not “worth it to me “. It was never a “dealbreaker to me anyways “. 😊

Neither. Last year I picked up Pixel 6a on Black Friday for $300. Rooted it and have system wide adblock and call recording. It runs great. Only thing I am missing is wireless charging. I have been eyeing Pixel 7 pro, which are going for $500 mint on swappa. Going with last year's phone save you like 50% and newest phones are marginally better. And this applies to iPhone. I just prefer Android for easier rooting and custom roms if I choose to use one.

I really like CNET and their smooth reviews. I would like to see a more diverse review from those who prefer Android because it seems like everyone on CNET prefers Apple ... and again all love and respect I'm not trolling.

IDK, nothing makes me want to use a Pixel over a Samsaung as a main phone.

I hate face unlock because I like to check my lock screen for notifications. With face unlock, my phone just opens to the home screen so I have to swipe down for my notifications. I think there is a setting for this, but I don't see the point of face unlock if it's just going to make me swipe to get to the home screen. I've also had issues using it when I grow a beard and I'm not about to update my face once a month.

Last sunday, we were at the beach and my cousin has an iPhone 15, he was taking some photos with a girl and I took my Pixel 7 and started to take some shoots too, and, everyone were speechless with the Pixel 7 photos!😂😂😂😂 He himself recognized that the iPhone 15 can't beat the Pixel 7 in photos!😂😂😂😂 The results were simply incredible

Im so confused why would the magic editor be concerning? We are able to do that with third party apps so whats the difference. You still have to do the action yourself. Im tired of people being scared of magic editor

I'll have to go with the pixel 8 pro, for all the AI features very handy and the ecosystems are exactly the same between iOS and Android. They all have the same features. But i am disappointed with the video quality in cinematic mode on Android. Im really not sure why Android cant improve video.

Apple's dedication to privacy and their seamless eco-system makes me stick with Apple. Their products are premium in every way and while the costs can be higher, I would argue that you also get more for the $$

15 Pro Max for the win here, the battery is a big factor. Being able to go to work, then to the gym, and still have enough battery to go out all night without charging my phone if I wanted to, is very convenient. I remember charging my phone twice a day with the Pixel 6 Pro or having to look at my battery life to make sure the activity I was doing wasn’t draining it too fast. As for software updates, I’ll see it when I believe it with Google. It’s much harder to implement than just promise. Probably a great selling point but 7 years down the road when they have to work on security and OS patches for an older phone model that little people will probably be using and it’s not making them money, we’ll see how committed they are.

I am still holding on because of the green screen/green line issues. As long as apple uses the inferior SAMSUNG screen panels for the Pro variants, the issue will still occur sooner or later. Here’s hoping apple would manufacture their own screen panels for future iphone 16, 17 or beyond, especially for the Pro variants that uses 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate

My wife has the iPhone 15 Pro Max and I have the Pixel 8 Pro. Pretty fair review...other than the battery life. In everyday use the Pixel 8 Pro kills the iPhone. My wife is always charging her iPhone when she gets home and her screen on time is honestly dreadful in comparison. The standout on the iPhone is it's video mode, but unless you're heavily into video mode then meh. And if you mostly use video to upload to social media, where it's often heavily compressed, then the iPhone advantage isn't really worth it either.

Great reviewer! I would like to see more videos from her and representation of diverse cultural backgrounds. The iPhone is just less stressful and more dependable. Pixel is awesome for the AI. If Apple gets a similar AI, then iPhones would be the winner. Remember that software can be updated after you get the phone, and hardware features stay the same forever.
