This fall, Apple will reveal their new iPhone 16 and 16 Pro models, so here are all the new features we’re expecting to see. Starting with the 16 and 16 Plus, which will come in a new purple color that join the existing pink, yellow, green, and blue options.

iphone 16 is supposed to be the first iphone that is more 'repair-friendly', whatever that means. Apple agreed to a right to repair bill back in August of 2023, but by that time the iphone 15 was already done with development.

60 Hz on a $800 phone in 2024 is absolutely ridiculous. Should've been 120 Hz years ago. It's not a cost issue either cause cheap androids have 120Hz. It's just a way to pressure people too buy the pro.

i agree with your statement, but the thing is, most people buying the base iphone dont notice or care. apple has no incentive to make the base models 120hz because there is simply no demand for it by the people who buy the phones. try showing the difference to non-tech savvy people or you parents, 99% wont see the difference and wont care as long as the phone does what its supposed to do. lots of people still dont even know the difference between oled vs lcd. us who watch videos like these know very well that its time to let go of 60 hz in 2024, but at the end of the day, we dont represent the average buyer, we're a minority. as long as most people dont care, apple has no reason to change. the masses mostly care about the cameras, thats why they get improved constantly and we get features like a dedicated camera button. (unnecessary imo, theres like 4 ways to access the camera already, now we'll have 5)

@@r3dluff Yep, this is very true. I'm tech savvy and care about these things but even after I showed my parents the difference, they didn't really care, and same with a lot of people I know. They just want the phone to work as it should and have a good battery life, that's it.

@@Pagglet i had an s24 ultra owner tell me that he envies iphone cameras because of their consistency. He said his phone has better zoom and can take amazing photos in certain situations, but its not nearly as consistent in taking good photos as iphones. And thats coming from the current flagship samsung. Also as i said, 120hz is really good, but 90% of the population simply doesnt care or see the difference. They want a well working phone with a reliable camera, which apple has perfected.

As an iPhone 12 user, with a broken back glass, 77% battery capacity, and a charging port that’s on its way, I am ready for a larger screen and battery. Even if it had minimal upgrades, I’d be happy to get the 16 plus anyhow. Nice to see that it comes with some previously pro-exclusive features.

I’m still on my iPhone 12 as the previous releases didn’t appeal to me. I got it in December 2020 and it still has 85% battery capacity. But this year I think it’s time to upgrade so looking forward to it

also consider that cases will have to adjust for the touch sensitive space. we could see cases with large cutouts or work arounds to avoid triggering the button. imagine sliding the phone into a grip, or pulling out of a pocket, and the camera opening all the time.

Well 12 mini doesn't have diagonal layout regardless (13 has it tho), it just had a square bump. Anyways I have completely opposite thoughts about it, I better liked the square bump. This new one will look like X or Xs, which I wasn't the biggest fan of.

you see everything you just said, and well know that people would have all bought the basic models because in the technical sheet between the classic models and the Pro models there is a lot of difference but I assure you in the real life I have both Pro and non-Pro models I see practically no difference apart from the 120Hz but I quickly get used to the 60Hz of the iPhone 15

this is the apple master plan, if they wanted to, they would make the products really good with tons of features but that would mean eventually they will hit a barrier and can no longer make money off of the product so they try to extend it as long as possible by only introducing 1 "big" change and a few little ones every year.
