Why does the logic board, digitizer and home button have to be removed to remove the charging port? Is there a risk of ripping the home button flex cable?

Hahahah u just need to take the battery out then charging port lol what u did is for replacing lcd and hm button hahaha... changing charging port is gonna take me 3 minutes lol

Is this like a practical joke or something? Yeah, like others have said, you don't need to go through all this trouble to replace this part. Just disconnect the charging port flex cable and the battery, take out the black speaker below the motherboard, and then skip ahead to the part in the video where he takes out the charging dock.

Furthermore, if you're trying to fix a microphone that isn't working during calls, this may not be your solution. It wasn't for me. Oddly enough, those videos of showing a piece of cardboard being place near the port flex connection on the motherboard and, maybe more importantly, putting a non-cracked back glass on fixed it.

Titus C there is a faster way to do this and you don't need to remove the home button unless you need it aswell. Otherwise you can just unplug the home button and take of dock from the other side.
