I will never give up my 8+. Unless they release another iphone w that home button. I need my home button. The 8 plus is a perfect phone. Period.

Yeah, it's all about the Home button, too bad Apple doesn't get this obvious fact of life. An SE+ with a dual camera (regular+telephoto) like the 8+ and I'd consider buying a new phone. Until then, I'll be using my 8+ until it dies.

Only difference i see other than cosmetic is the newest phones run games better which i dont do at all. And the screen quality has improved. Text messaging, web shit, spotify, audio/music. The 8plus is virtually same as far as loading these apps and doing what most people do day to day. Gonna be tough to let this thing go. 8plus still rocking

Yes, I am still holding on to my 8 Plus…for basically all the reasons you outlined in your video. I dread the Face ID, and very much prefer the home button. I smashed the screen up to smothering last year but instead of upgrading, bought a screen protector to hold it together 😳🙄😐. What can you say, what can you do 🤷🏾‍♀️

@@BrandonButch I recently upgraded from the SE to the 8 plus and I’ve rlly enjoyed the 8 plus. Not worth the upgrade in my opinion. Once u go big screen with better resolution.. u cannot go back to that 750p, 326ppi density screen.. it’s really hard.. I tried

The 8 plus is actually 1 of 2 iPhone I’m using every now and then .... the other one being the XS but after updating it from iOS 13 with shock and horror I’ve realized I can no longer lock the network on 2G but only 3G and 4G ... it’s worth to mention that I live in Italy and here 2G has the best reception (especially here in the countryside) ... so I was kinda forced to switch back to the 8 plus but honestly I’ve got no problem with it ... I don’t do a whole lot with the phone so the battery lasts more than a day ... the camera to me is more than adequate of corse no stereo audio or smart HDR but in all honesty they are good features to have but not necessary for me .... the display is more than adequate being 5.5 inches and 1080p and honestly I don’t find the front facing Camera bad by any means even the Full HD videos are fine but it’s worth to mention that I don’t record videos that often so it has never been a priority... and about upgrading to newer phones .. I can’t I’m flat out broke so for the time being I’ll keep using it on it’s older version of iOS for an another 2 years or so 👍

In reality, phone still looks great, it has a decent resolution which matters and has a greeeeat camera. I do not understad why do people consider it bad, except perhaps for the battery. I have Iphone 11 pro, and when I compared Iphone X (which has the same camera as 8+) i had to crop the picture to see that my phone has little extra detail when it comes down to textures, but again, you had to crop in. The advantage of my phone is 1. Battery 2. Ultra wide camera 3. Night mode Are those features worth getting 11 pro and above? Probably, but again, do not underestimate old flagships because the improvements are not as big as people think they are, especially not with camera and portrait photoshooting. Night mode in the end is a software feature that they could have added long time ago, but to sell you the idea, they put it onto new device so that you want to have that extra feature and spend more money.

I have an 11 and I miss my 8 Plus. Great phone, and I miss that phone a lot. I’ve found that my 8 Plus runs just as well (on a beta) as my iPhone 11 does running the latest public software. Absolutely insane how well the iPhone 8 Plus has aged. To my friends reading this who still have the 8 Plus and are looking to upgrade: Get a flagship iPhone. It doesn’t have to be this year’s, but get a flagship. I made that mistake and upgraded to the standard 11 and it has never wowed me. It has felt like I put my 8 Plus in a different body, slowed down 3D Touch (because haptic touch is slower), gave it Face ID, and then slapped a wide angle camera on it. I will be getting a flagship when I eventually upgrade, I regret not doing it. TDLR: putting a little more money down when you get a new phone is worth it in the long run

I had a 8 and it was a pretty noticeable jump to the 11 in my eyes, couldn’t stand the bazels, sounds to me like your down playing the 11 a bit, the speed difference is definitely noticeable from the a13 compared to a11, not to mention batter battery and - cameras, although the 8plus is still a solid phone, the 11 is superior, the X or XR is a more better comparison if anything.

Still using my 8 Plus on iOS 13.2.3. Use my 6s 16gb as a dedicated iPod for my truck. My iPhone 4s on 6.0.1 and iPhone 5 on 6.0.2 were recently cleaned up and put in my closest to retire lol. They did their time.

I love my 8+. Had it since 2017. I wouldn’t have bought a new phone if not for the fact I kept on dropping it without a screen protector and the screen finally cracked and the camera also stopped working. I bought a 12 early last year and the screen cracked in less than a year. I can definitely say the 8+ is so reliable and durable and there’s something about TouchID that feels very nostalgic. Now I have the 13 and have learned my lesson. Always use a screen protector!! Lol.

I started off with an iPhone 5 as my first phone, next was the iPhone 6, then the iPhone 7 Plus. My first iPhone without the home button was the iPhone 11, and now my current phone is the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I will admit that I do miss the home button, especially the one on the iPhone 7 Plus.

Downgraded to an 8+ for the TouchID but I might upgrade again because of FaceID/mask (I work in surgery). I installed an iPhone 12 green housing for the square edges which makes it look awesome!

I just bought an iPhone 8 Plus. I did consider an iPhone XR but I decided the home button still important. Since i have low vision and use voice over, the home button is a really easy way to get straight to the Home Screen if I ever get lost.

my first iphone was 3gs in 2012 and had it till 2018, when I bought 8 plus, now I have 8 plus and its still decent, however I haven't updated to ios 15, it works super perfectly smooth on ios 14 with games on max and runs apps very fast, I guess my ritual stands that I have to get a new iphone for every 6 years which means that I'll be getting iphone 15 haha

There were rumors of Apple making an iPhone SE Plus based off the 8 Plus and this is exactly what I want. Bigger screen, bigger battery, Touch ID and the latest “A” chipset. The modern designs don’t really call out to me, I like the older designs more. I hope Apple makes this a reality.

Home button, it's all about the Home button, Apple. You can keep your full screens with camera notches and Face ID and no Home button, I'm not buying, ever. Kapeesh? Rocking my 8+ until it dies and then, maybe I'll consider an SE 4 in 2024. Or, better yet, release a ProMax with a Home button and no notch along side your current offerings and see which model sells better?! Methinks you're too afraid to find out. >snort!

(Sigh) now I’m missing my iPhone 8 Plus now, just watching your video; it is making me miss my iPhone. I got it in march of 2018, I send it off for a trade-in (which it already happened) to get the iPhone 13 Pro Max. You know what’s crazy is that now I have my new iPhone in my hands, I don’t feel satisfied anymore, like oh wow I got the new iPhone in my hands now, now I don’t know what to do with it. I bought a brand new iPhone 8 Plus 256GB for $328 in February 2022 from eBay. The only way to ensure that an iPhone is actually brand new is to ask the seller to give you the IMEI and/or S/N, which you can enter in a number of websites that will tell you whether or not this iPhone has been activated before. Apple itself has a website to check this information. I can tell you that the iPhone 8 Plus in 2022 is definitely a great choice for those of us who hate the notch. In a couple of years once the there is only a hole-punch left, I may consider upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but for now, I'm very happy with the 8 Plus' performance in 2022 with iOS 15.

I like the old iPhones more than the new ones. Their screen resolution fits a KZfaq video or an Anime video perfectly. Plus, Touch ID is so much quicker than Face ID. Even Face ID can recognise a twin, so it’s not as secure as Touch ID.

Well, after iOS 16 announcement at WWDC 22 this is probably the last year that this phone will be supported by apple, which is a shame because it offers the complete package for those who still rather have the Touch ID in a large footprint than the tiny SE.

My IPhone 8 Plus is still going very strong and handling apps and new features like a pro very smoothly. Even my battery has dropped to 79% after using it for over 3 years!!! Very good phone!

still jammin’ my 8+ since oct 2018🥳 still running nicely. reason why i haven’t upgrade cause im not sure if i can move to OLED yet (the pwm, eye strain thingy). 8+ display still very very subtle cause 11 (despite its lovely + still with LCD screen) idk if that’s an upgrade or nah since the screen resolution less sharp (?) + ultrawide instead of telephoto😟

I am keeping my 8 plus for as long as I can. iOS 16 will support this. Apps right now only require iOS 14. This phone can still download new apps for another two years. Maybe iOS 17 will also support this

If I’m being completely honest, the last iPhone I actually enjoyed was the 8+. I have the 13 pro max, and don’t get me wrong I love it, it’s a great phone, but the last actual iPhone I was excited for was the 8+🤷‍♂️. I think when the Galaxy S23 releases "SUPPOSEDLY" next February I’m switching back to Samsung.

Personally, I don’t have an iPhone 8 Plus. I have an iPhone 7. I am waiting for the March Apple Event to see what the iPhone SE 3 is going to bring. I hope Apple brings an iPhone SE 3 Plus because I like the bigger screen size, would still have the home button, and better battery life compared to a regular SE 3. But I would by the iPhone SE 3 either way probably. Apple, PLEASE start the base storage at 128GB. I mean, we’re in 2022. C’mon man! 😏😂

My trusted iPod Touch has given up the ghost. Since Apple discontinued the iPod Touch the cost of s/hand models have skyrocketed. Purchasing a s/hand iPhone 8 Plus as a replacement was a no-brainer for me as I really don't need the phone features.

The only iPhones I’ve had was the iPhone 5S and right now iPhone 7. I like the home button which gives you Touch ID which is really cool and crazy to think that it first came out with the 5S in 2013! So when I saw that Apple ditched them I thought well “why fix/change what isn’t broken?” Innovation, sure. Bigger screen, fair enough. Face ID, ehhh Touch ID before you even pull it out of your pocket, your iPhone already unlocked. IMO it’s better. It’s kind of the same thing when the 7 came out and Apple removed headphone jack and made AirPods, it was a smart move on Apple, very slick xD but some saw it as greedy. The form factor of the 6 - 8 and the other 2 SEs doesn’t bother me at all prolly because I’m just used to older iPhones design like 5S and 7. Bezels, home button, less screen compared to other modern iPhones? Yeah but it gets the job done. Nostalgia maybe? I don’t know for sure. The 8 Plus a couple of years ago, I saw a friend who had one and I didn’t like it cause it was too big but now I want one, irony! Bigger screen, bigger battery and it still has Touch ID? Nice! Right now I’m on the fence on whether to buy an 8 Plus or go for the new SE 2022. If Apple could make an SE Plus based off the 8 Plus, then I would buy it instantly!

I kinda regret the iPhone8+ purchase because it's too bulky even for me being a 6'1" dude. The iPhone 6 was my main for years and I upgraded to the iPhone 8+ last year. The iPhone 6 form factor is the best and I'll be upgrading to an SE sooner than later instead of buying another humungous phone.

My 8 plus still looks new and going strong iOS 15.4.1 runs beautiful on it, 93% battery health, lasts me all day, still snappy. I have the 11 pro max but darn thing is like a heavy brick in the hand and pocket. My 8 plus is very relevant in 2022, but yours, have a new battery installed if needed. Best phone I've had. Touch ID so much easier!

Just had a new battery put in my iPhone 8 and it should be good for a couple more years with updates there’s no slow downs like there was on my seven after 2 1/2 years so so far I’m happy. I never use 3D Touch and I basically forget it is there PUBG is absolutely no problem on my 8

I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to the 13 PM but I hung on to my 7Plus for 5 years, in hopes that Apple would implement Touch ID again or finger print sensor under the screen. I have to wear a mask everyday, so Face ID pretty much sucks for me. Also, I’m not really sure why Apple can’t make the future SE’s with a home button but make the top bezel smaller. It doesn’t need to be so large.

@Mentalità Vincente …Yeah I know how it works. Using a 4 digit passcode is not secure enough. And a 6 digit code is pain in the ass to type in every time I need to open my phone (which is at least 50-100 times a day for work. And for $1200, Apple should be able to implement some sort of Touch ID, like every other premium cellphone has been doing for years. Thanks for the suggestion though 🙄

I've got a 6s and looking to upgrade to a 12 mini cause I just dont like how large phones are. I'll pick one up used from ebay or facebook once the 6s no longer gets ios updates but I'm always open to suggestions as honestly im in no rush to go out and buy a new phone as mine works great. It's amazing how long this thing has been supported for and how well it still works, truly a change of heart from apple in the past years.

i forever refused to update from a iphone X and XS MAX because they took out 3D touch lol,,, i just started using a XR as a side phone and i really despise the no 3D touch thing i freaking hate haptic touch 😕 it's so slow and strange and ill never get used to it

I was using an iphone 4s purchased in 2012, until December 2021. Only reason I changed was that AT&T sent me a free iphone SE since support for the 4s was ending in Feb 2022. I was reluctant to switch, but had to since support was ending. Still use the 4s outside when streaming music over wifi.

Current iPhone 8+ user and I agree with the camera and battery life… it’s kinda garbage having to charge my phone throughout the day so that it’s doesn’t die before I get home from work, waiting to see if the 14 is worth it

I would say the 13 line is already a MASSIVE leap from an 8 Plus so going to a 14 line iPhone would be like going from using a potato clock to using a quantum computer. I already recommend the 13 line.

If you got unlimited data from your provider just switch off Wifi. That consumes enormous amounts of power. When switch off my 8plus lasts 2 days 😁

@@jjpark98 truu I like to keep up with new tech as far as being informed of what’s out there and I agree a 13 would be a night and day change from what I’m currently using but having touch ID has been a blessing during the pandemic and in Canada we still have to wear masks 😕 (I know I can unlock Face ID with my watch but I’m just saying) I’m also thinking I’ve waited this long I might as well wait for techtober or Black Friday to get a sweet deal and try to finesse the latest and greatest on a good deal

I just recently decided to go 13proMax, trading in my 8plus for 700.00. I used the 13 for less than 12 hours and decided it was NOT for me. I found nothing really better with the 13. I thought the camera was clunky, the 13 felt heavier, the screen was too sensitive and would open when unintended. I looked up the cost of an 8plus on a phone website (220.00) and was ready to buy it. I went to Verizon and was so amazed when I found out I could get my exact old 8plus back! (It had been less than 24 hours.). A very happy Verizon 8plus customer!

It's completely worth getting especially with ios 16 coming to it and if it's slow you can just get a new battery from apple for less than 50$ It's completely recommend imo
