I can understand your perspective. Removing the front and phone components may not always be necessary when replacing the back of a phone. However, in some cases, it is required for certain phone models or in situations where repairs or replacements need to be done on the internal components, connectors, or screws that are accessible only by removing the front. in this case, there is no screw on the back glass

Could you tell me why you remove screen and more just to replace the back glass?? I see other videos here when they just took the pieces carefully and put the new one, and seems to work exactly like the people that remove the screen. Also other people remove the screen but no so many parts like you did. Why?

It took time but I was able to replace the backdoor after removing all the components for precausion. I glued the new one back and was wondering how it will manage to not let the water in now... I guess I just need to fill the holes that I find with more glue (I used the same one)... I am really not confident about it being water-repelent anymore. I feel like a small drop from behind will kill the phone. Guys, I really recommend to disassembly the whole phone and then proceed to remove the glass. You will need TONS of heat and you will need to make pressure on the device to scrap the broken glass off. After replacing the glass myself, if you want to have your phone perfect, I would recommend buying a new frame (80 dollars with components on eBay) since the phone probably won't be that water-sesistant at all, but also far from sealed from the back. If you place your phone in a small water body, it will probably get in easily. But if you follow this tutorial, I recommend double checking water leaking.

It’s absolutely the most difficult way to fix it If we have the display and the Bord out we can change the frame with the Glas back or just scratch the back glass and tacke a new one with a bigger Camera hole

How would you remove the metal case (rear camera)? I bought the parts like you suggest but I don’t see how to remove the metal bracket without damaging something.

It is worth checking each cables and making sure that each screw is installed in its place. I would take it apart and carefully assemble it again.

To be on the safe side he should have removed motherboard too. He’s dumping a lot of heat into that chassis and could easily have heated the motherboard and accidentally caused issues as well

What temperature are you using and for how long? Also if anyone is trying the repair with the phone fully assembled just don't. Display and cameras are very temperature sensitive and you are probably gonna burn them. Motherboard can make it easily.

I did a back glass replacement and after reassembling the phone. It is laging. I try to do some troubleshooting 1- when a disconnect the back and front camera the phone works well with no lag 2- when i connect only the back camera the phone lags 3- when i connect only the front camera the phone lags PS : the cameras are working, i noted that the back camera as a focusing problem a the first attempt. The cameras works but the flash doesnt Please help

Amazing video, thank you so much. Sadly I don’t trust myself enough to attempt this and none of the cellphone repair shops around where I live in Canada🇨🇦 will even attempt this. So it looks like I’ll be stuck with paying the $880.27cad(after taxes) price tag to have Apple replace the phone since according to them the back glass “isn’t replaceable”😞

another way to remove it is to carefully grind down the welds from inside with a dremel and lens will come out easily. this is what I do to repair phones

Without taking the motherboard from the phone it will work too.. Maybe just the battery because it can be overheated.

Metal casing? Was this involved? I just ordered all the parts to replace my GF's backing and want to make sure I'm not missing anything before I start/attempt. I've done this for a couple of other phones, but not this one yet.

@@JJ-le5fe I'm talking about the camera case 14:15 I didn't know how to replace it so I just used his method to cut it out. It was not perfect but it worked. Make sure you take out all the parts because you will need alot of heat to melt the glue. Put your parts aside because I had glass bits everywhere.

@@mrleet6247 thanks for the reply. I ended up ordering the full backing with parts for $78 on eBay so that I dont have to go through that step. Seller stated it was an OEM backing and it's a US seller, so hopefully I don't regret my purchase.

He needs to use so much heat (heat gun) to get the glass removed, it will damage the battery, oled screen, and other parts like the motherboard if they are not removed.

Okay, so long story short.. go ahead and disassemble your phone down to it's smallest components and then you can pop that new screen on. Good luck piecing it back together again. Holy hell.. pretty sure I'll just pay someone for the repair!

Glass on the back of a cell phone is probably one of the stupidest design choices ever. Seriously, why do we need that? 99% of iPhone users use a case which blocks the purported “sophisticated feel” of glass anyway. Yet those cases don’t protect the back glass from shattering in a fall. It’s just a scam from Apple so you buy a new one when it inevitably breaks.
