There’s something definitely wrong in his mind to think that this behavior is “okay”. At least he realizes that it’s far from normal. It’s really a sad way of living. i used to shower like once a week (if that) when i was a teen then i moved out got my own place. i took a bath and could visibly see the dirt coming off my skin. was kinda shocking, i basically became addicted to getting dirty then getting clean. it would bother me if i bathed and wasnt dirty enough. it got really bad, i would help volunteer for the dirtiest jobs at work just so i can go home and bathe. going into sewage tanks, carrying cement, working with fiberglass, rolling around in mud.... i was the IT guy. i've been addicted to alot of weird things in the past but bathing off dirt has to be by far the weirdest.

Luckily there are different forms of depression and types of people. Cause when I was in my deepest darkest pit, I was taking long baths all the time. It was comforting...being dirty is something I could never stand. Maybe my form of depression did not include hating myself that much, that I didnt cared about my health and look. It's the reason why when you take a shit, initially it smells really bad, but if you're in there for awhile, you start not to smell it anymore. But if you were to leave the bathroom for awhile, then go back in it'd hit your nose really hard again. This is also why people have a hard time realizing they have bad BO. Because they're too used to their own bad BO that they can no longer smell it anymore.

There's definitely some truth to it. A lot of people that are truly depressed can't get up out of bed and leaving the house is difficult for a depressed person, so him actually getting up and out to the convenience store says a lot. I'm not exactly depressed, but I'm not in the best of places right now in my life and I don't feel like leaving my house half the time unless it's for work. Going to the gym, to the track to run, stuff like that, I used to be on top of it when I was happier, so there's some traction in what he says.

I've heard people stop washing their hair for weeks on end to "reset" their hair, but not showering.

I’ve gone a month without showering, dozens of times, because I go backpacking for 30+ days at a time. The entire ultralight community is in the woods for longer than 30 days and there ain’t no showers out there🤷‍♂️

Right?! I was trying to figure how his hygiene was detrimental to society. I don't think people realize how wealthy he really is. He's got two successful steaming channels with one of them monetize, youtube channels that combine get over 2 billion views a month, part owner of OTK, part owner of Starforge and now a publishing studio. On top of that, he doesn't spend any money what so ever I've been watching him since the very beginning. I started as a hate watcher but "baldy" grows on you. As someone with ADHD, sometimes the most basic of tasks like reheating a microwave dish, making a sandwich, clipping nails, wiping my desk clean, showering, etc... can take me several hours even if i focus on the task the entire time, even if i'm running around back and forth trying to rush it with no single interruption. It's like magic, in the worst way possible. So i can understand someone struggling to find time to do those things but not gaming. People also need some time to recover energy and such, and for some people certain things drain them infinitely more than others.

baby powder was not safe last I heard,maybe vaseline or something else that makes your skin temporarily waterproof or create a barrier on the skin,can't imagine why you need baby powder if you already have no access to water,on the other hand if you are constantly sweaty and damp you might be inclined to reach for that,still a bad choice...plus it will clump up in areas where the skin is broken,it will not help fix it and will make recovery slower and possibly cause more cracking and bleeding and is not at all recommended for use on damaged skin...like we don't even use that stuff on babies here in my country since the 90s...to call it baby powder is wrong when it can be the worst for them....I have psoriasis and would not let that be applied to another person in the same room let alone my vicinity ....

I had a similar experience during a summer school semester. We had assigned seats and I had the unfortunate seat next to a kid who smelled like spoiled fish and dog shit. I can see dandruff all over his shirt, flakes of dead skin over his oily scalp and chin, even his pimples had dead skin. I had to ditch class a few times because the smell was so awful it gave me diarrhea. Makes me want to kick Asmondgold's dumb ass as much as I wanted to kick the guy I was assigned to sit next to. 😅
