Hi there, great video. I'm after some more information regarding how to program the IR remote to use on two PTZ cameras. I can't find anything and you indicated in this video that it can be done, but I can't find anything online. Thanks.

I am looking for understandable instructions on setting one remote to operate more than one camera. All of my remotes operate Camera one. The included instructions are either too obtuse to understand, or just don't work. Since you mentioned several times that a remote could be used for more than one camera, I had hoped you would show us how to do that, but you didn't. How do I change a camera to a different camera number?

Hello! To use one IR remote to control multiple PTZOptics cameras, you will need to assign each camera a unique camera ID. This way, when you want to control a particular camera, you can select its specific ID on the remote, and only that camera will respond to the commands. Here's how you can set up each camera with a different ID: 1. Power On the Camera: Ensure your camera is turned on and is ready to receive the remote control inputs. 2. Access IR Remote Control Settings: On your PTZOptics remote, press the * button followed by the # button. This will enable you to access the camera's on-screen menu. 3. Navigate to the PTZ Configuration: Use the arrow keys on the remote to navigate through the menu options. Find the setting for PTZ Config or similar, depending on your camera model. 4. Change the Camera's Address (ID): In the PTZ Configuration menu, look for an option labeled something like Camera Address or ID Set. You will be able to select a number (usually 1-7) that will be the unique identifier for this particular camera. 5. Set the Camera ID: Using the number keys on the remote, enter the desired number for this camera. It’s important that no two cameras in the same vicinity have the same number if you wish to control them separately. 6. Save and Exit: Make sure to save your settings (usually by pressing Enter or OK on the remote) before exiting the menu. Repeat the process for each camera, ensuring each one has a unique ID. 7. Control Multiple Cameras: Once each camera has been assigned a unique ID, you can control them individually by pressing the corresponding number (1-7) on the remote and then using the normal control buttons (zoom, pan, tilt, etc.). The camera whose number you last pressed will be the one that responds to subsequent commands. By setting up each camera with its own ID, you can easily switch control among multiple cameras using just one remote. This setup is particularly useful in scenarios where multiple cameras are being used in the same room or area, such as in a conference hall or during live events.
