New iRacing release of Algarve track and Super Formula Light car (Dallara 324, 275 hp) driven in a rain
fpsVR window visible for a reference. Graphics settings are in the end of the video for a reference. Overall the rain in iRacing doesn't seem to create noticeable load on the CPU or GPU. The new Dallara 324 feels very good and my 1st impression on the iRacing Tempest wet weather system is excellent.
After a 360 spin I try to gain back the lost position in a light rain on a new Portimao Algarve, Portugal GP circuit
The Varjo Aero VR native resolution of 2880 x 2720 per eye was mirrored to 3440 x 1440 display and captured to 3440 x 1440 video.
PC reference:
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D - 64 GB - GeForce 4090 (recent CPU & mem update vs some of the previous videos) - Varjo Aero VR HMD
Rig: Rseat B1 - Simucube 2 Pro direct drive wheel base - Fanatec CS v3 pedals - Buttkicker shaker, steering wheel sequential shifters were used

The rain visibility has been improved in a recent iRacing SW update at lower speeds reducing the water spray and the car lights are visible through the water spray also in high speeds. Also the surface reflection on the water/surface has been improved. iRacing now also supports 360 Hz force feedback for Simucube at least at this point. With a Buttkicker shaker this gives a very good feeling on how the car is handling and what is happening at any given moment.

Its great being a sim racing fan isnt it? Of all the types of games one could enjoy, our genre happen to benefit the most from new stuff like VR and isnt mostly infected with micro transactions etc. Feels smug hehe

Hi Sami. Cool vid. What is "Varjo Aero VR (recent CPU & mem update)" in your specs referring to? I run an Aero too. Chris.

Thanks, I'm still learning to stay on the track on a wet surface. The HW update is not related to Varjo. I'll try to clarify and change that a bit. I put the PC hardware info as a reference to compare how it runs. In many of my older videos I have Ryzen 5900X with 32G which does have some impact on the fps. I also have videos with 3080Ti GPU. In the end of the video there is also a short clip of the iRacing graphics settings I had used. It may not be optimal but it's there for a reference.
