Robert Marawa and Thando "Pa" Manana were in France to watch the quarterfinal game between Ireland and New Zealand on 14 October 2023.
Outside the stadium, they did a post-game analysis. The All Blacks won 28-24.

Good analysis lads.... AB's put a head, heart and guts performance on the field for 80 plus minutes (played smart, played with courage to endure the pain and played with pure determination from deep in the body when the going got tough)

In sports ever fan has the right to cheer for their team,we love the All Blacks my husband's nephew is Richie mouga, and we live in the states, it's part of any sports, drowning out the haka is disrespectful it's like booing a national anthem of a country when it's sung, good luck to the Ireland team they fought hard till the last second of the game, let's go All black's bring it home, cheer's from south Jordan Utah USA

They had the ball over the line for the try, if not for Jordy Barrett clinging on the ball to prevent the down. (Absolute legend stuff.) If not for that Ireland probably would have have won it . (That said, I had a feeling that New Zealand would win it ...)

The question is in a WC knock-out game against the ABs was that the best decision? This was not just a random game, it was the game that mattered most. Impossible to predict how things would have unfolded but I would say when you face a top team who will give you 0 chance, isn't it better to secure the points you can?

Why do you say the Irish disrespected the Haka? I love the haka and respectfully enjoy it here in NZ, but I do not believe that it is fair that the Pacific countries get this right at a world cup - GIVE ALL teams equal opportunity, then I am on board. It is a world cup and equal fairness to each and every team must be the norm for a competition at this level. Otherwise the Springboks should be able to do a gumboot dance to Shozoloza before their battle with France and likewise, France do a version of La bohème or something

Why do people keep saying the Irish fans disrespected the ABs? If it is due to booing the kicks, that is beyond absurd. Ireland were the team that pioneered the silence at kicks, and I've had french and english friends make fun of them for lack of gamesmanship for encouraging it. And then they boo THE DECISION, and it's disrespect? Was it the Haka and the respect shown for the deceased Anthony Foley? And as for players after, they're entitled to allow emotion to boil over. If I am missing something that no one will explain, please comment.

I think most people find the noise of the crowd and trying to drown out the haka. But...as a Kiwi it doesn't really matter, the world isn't obliged to react to our culture the way we expect people back home to. I think the boys were just super focussed on this game

Reacting to the haka is fine. And, standing in a figure 8 to honour a fallen player is perfectly acceptable. The difference is when it is done during a funeral or wedding. That's when people should be respectful. But, it's more relaxed, and pre-match entertainment, when performed before a game.

The disrespect was real from 99.9% of Irish Rugby Fans……and the whole MEDIA circus who hyped it up to almost a frenzied state I respect and admire the IRELAND team and their coach Andy Farrell….this isn’t the END for the Irish Lads they will comeback….us KIWIS have been there with the number one tag and fallen by the wayside…..IRELAND is def world class and if they keep this momentum of being competitive for years to come than that SEMI is definitely within reach……all the best from NZ Fan 🔥💯❤️

I hate the up and under kick. As a tactic I think its stupid. Especially when you're playing in your own half. I mean, strategically speaking, you are giving away possession for essentially very little gain, and for a 50/50 chance you'll get the ball back again. This was the case when Aaron Smith kicked the ball away in the last 4 minutes, putting his team under intense pressure for 35+ phases and very nearly could have cost them the game, were it not for an absolutely perfect defensive display by his team. Beauden Barrett is another one who, when he runs out of ideas, reverts to this tactic. Why not kick for distance, and try to put the ball out? At the end stages of the game, field position is king, and playing in the opposition half should be the goal, not doing bloody stupid kicks which gain no ground and more often than not, give position away, and raise my blood pressure to unbearable levels!.
