я с бабушкой смотрела их выступление по ночам! эбэ была фанаткой Родниной! я сейчас тоже фонатка Родниной!!! очень любим и помним ваши выступления!!!

In the 1970s, when I was a teenager, I saw them perform in person. There were all kinds of wonderful skaters but the speed of this pair was unbelievable! It’s hard to see on camera but they were so fast you could not believe it! Fantastic.

They inspired me to skate, jump and to do tricks with skates. I love their example. I am now 52 and still in good shape. Thank you Alexander and Irina!

Sometimes very old sports look badly outdated. But not in this case! Power, speed, synchronism was like shadow - even the jump combinations. Still almost unbeatable performance.

Unfortunately in this Olympics (2014) people are not remembering the greatness of this pair and their accomplishments. Rodnina & Zaitsev were absolutely legendary in their performances. This was at the height of the cold war but people were able (in 1976) to put that aside & focus on the beauty & the artistry.

@@rolandgreen7484 I was a very young skater at this time and I thought they were amazing. I didn't think they were particularly artistic but the security and strength and speed were something. I preferred her with Ulanov actually. BUT, it all becomes moot when you see G&G for the first time. Irina who?

Все программы которые делала для этой пары Тарасова очень красивые и профессилнальные.Без Жука, Тарасовой и Зайцева Роднина бы и не состоялась!

Правильно что старые спортсмены борются против прогресса в спорте,,,нечего людям ноги и головы ломать и убивать свою жизнь ради четверных прыжков оборотов

I remember watching this as a kid. I was involved in figure skating at the time. They were the best I'd ever seen. Then G&G came around and erased them. Rodnina might be a legend based on her number of titles and they might have been a great pair for their era, but Gordeeva and Grinkov are so far superior in every way that it's hard to take the superlatives seriously. 30 years later G&G remain the paradigm of great pairs skating. This looks clunky.

If all you see is the difference in height (which dissipated as they got older) and only pay attention to the throw jumps you know nothing about skating However, it's clear from your comments you know absolutely nothing about skating. You should stop typing.

YesI know almost nothing about skating and love G&G too. Even the newer pairs seem lesser to me, almost like they are trying too hard to be exceedingly artistic.

Щас понятно почему Роднина борется против Тутберидзе и четвёртых прыжков (то есть против прогресса в фигурном катании). Эта программа проста смешна на сегодняшний день, ни одного тройного прыжка или выброса или хоть какой либо достойной поддержки. Я бы промолчал бы если бы Роднина так яростна не боролась бы против прогресса в фигурном катании. Чего хочет Роднина, чтобы все отсылалось на таком же уровне? Без всякой иронии пишу что моей племяшке 9 лет и ей ставят программы гораздо сложнее чем это что-то. Старые фигуристы должны радоваться прогрессу а не бороться против него.

С ума сошли? Как она идёт на поддержки,так и сейчас не умеют! Собрана,при всей крепотуре своей лёгкая! вы наверное даже спортом Никаким не занимались,только телек смотрели. Но для вас и таких как вы они и катались,просто для публики.

Who needs artistry when you do every technical element better than everyone else, are so precise on every single move, and have speed and power over the ice nobody else can match.
