I learned this piece when i was a teenager. I continued to play this piece throughout the years and have discovered that this is a great example of an “adult” piece. I think time and age really helps to translate the piece more effectively. I notice a huge difference between the ages.

Rachmaninoff's Elegy - it's an absolutely fantastic masterpiece performed by the highest class, the brilliant music of the Russian composer awakens incredible feelings in the soul, helps to live, think, love and empathize. . .

Rachmaninoff really touches the soul. Elegance, melody, emotion, deep music, everything. This is why he is my favorite composer :D

Am I the only one who enjoys not only the music itself but also the elegance and good taste surrounding the concerts? the piano itself, the lighting and decoration of the room or stage in which is taking place, the beauty of the pianist (in this case), her attire, her looks, her attitude, her poise... Well it's overwhelming for my aesthetical sensitivity...

I can't help but listen to this recording every single time I sit down to learn this piece, it inspires me and I have no words to describe how awesome this was played. Bravo!

A great performance. This piece is dedicated to Arensky who was taught by Tchaikovsky. Both Rachmaninov and Scriabin where taught by Arensky. I can hear tiny stylistic snippets of Tchaikovsky and Scriabin in this piece. Pure romanticism.

One of my favourite performances of one of my favourite pieces of music. Very emotional, but played with a noble class. Irina channels her own confidence and it comes out in the music, her interpretation has a "strength" and "determination" to overcome the darkness.
