Iris Scott paintings just with her fingertips using oils and gloves. This Brooklyn-based artist grew up paining with all mediums but in 2010 stumbled upon finger-painting and has not used a brush since. To see more of her work visit: www.IrisScottFineArt.com

Impressionalism...like this style. No expensive brushes etc. Just the paint, bowl, water and gloves, towel to wipe hands.

Hi Iris.. I am a lover of your ART... it is fabulous ...love everything about it .... I am an artist myself ...and self taught... I would looovvve to know how to paint as you do...yes we can all finger paint...lol..but just to do one painting for my own home...I would be thrilled... and one of yours ..I would be over the moon.. Iris im so amazed by the freedom of yr expression on canvas. im a accomplished wildlife artist in my area, however the acolaide and pomp and circumstance are nice , im so labored at the 100s of hours i put into a wildlife painting, i paint fur bearing animals , grizzers, lions cheetahs excetera. im going to try and really let my spirit soul complex go now that ive watch it happen with yr BEAUTIFUL EXPRESSIONS OF COLOR AND FLOW ONTO THE CANVAS. I ONLY HOPE SOMEDAY I CAN SHOW YOU THE MASTERPIECE THAT IS ME AND ME ALONE. GOD THE FATHERS BLESSING BE UPON YR LOVING GIGGLING SOUL AND NEVER STOP BEING YOU. LOVE YR WORK AND YOU ALSO. This style of painting has to be expensive if selling not just bc of the talent and time that goes into it but the amount of money the artist spends on the paint itself!!!!!

I always thought that drawing with the fingers was better than the brush. Art School teach you how to draw with the brush, which in my opinion is very frustrating. I lost my touch with the arts trying to learn that. Yesterday was the day i first saw your art piece; teacher was trying to show me the correct path into colour art. She show me a lot of pieces but yours! Was the only one that got my attention( the fishes painting) and Today i discovered your name. Here i am now watching all of your videos and paintings and i say to myself "I found myself through the art and passion of another. I will use my technics and look up to that person! I will be my own masterpiece just like Iris Skott..." Thank you

Estimate the average thickness of paint (my guess is 4 mm), then multiply it by the canvas dimensions (let's say 1×1.5 m). So it's 6000 cubic centimetres, e.g. 6000 ml of paint, which is about 100 small tubes or 40 large ones.

Look awesome....I love it. So how long does it take to dry seeing it is applied so thick? And would it work okay using acrylic? Do you need to let the first layer dry before you go on? That is why I thought acrylic sounds a better option as I hate waiting.

Weeks, I started doing painting flatter and let it dry as I continue to play with texture, It takes a few weeks to be thoroughly dry. by building the color i believe use less, but the idea is to paint. i try to use the excess paint in areas I just want coverageg. I don't waste oil paint, it is too expensive to not find a way to use it during my creations.
