No it really has eel extract, unagi ekisu, in the ingredients.

The unagi sauce definitely has eel in it, and is a common brown sauce used in most sushi restaurants. It doesn't really taste fishy... more a balance of sweet and salty.

@GenXfrom75 I'm Midwestern and I get that reference. Not Midwestern in the overblown Minnesota or Wisconsin Midwestern, but the neutral, not a heavy regional accent midwestern. I'm from Michigan originally, and they pretty much sound like most of the people I know

I suggest one of my childhood favorites. A soda pop called Spruce Beer. My dad showed us as kids how to select hardened Spruce sap chunks right off the tree which you could chew as "Spruce Gum" All natural and quite tasty. New Brunswick grocery stores still sell it I think/HOPE lol.
