Sligo Irish Pub in Media, PA holds an Irish Music Session on Monday evenings. Bring your traditional instruments and join the jam, or come out and be in the audience! Either way, it's a great way to celebrate the Irish heritage!

Just a main a farmer, a teacher, a diver, a scaffolder, a builder, a fisherman, a roofer, a surgeon, a politician, a peacemaker, a holy man, a holy woman, a holy child, a poet, a sheep working herder, a person, a man of leisure, a wander, etc wanders into an Irish pub, sits down has a drink then get up and joins the group of players that they never have met before and starts to play like an elite top profession player continues to play for a few hours, gets up, says goodby and wanders off down the street in the most natural of ways, where else in our world would something like this happen

Looks like a great night out pity it's far away from Sligo. Looks like Great music fun and enjoyment. Hope someone will sing a verse of' My Old Sligo Home'. Well done and best of luck.

@@LindaHutchings I sent a reply an hour ago or so but for some reason, it did not get sent. Will try again. I am not a singer but listen to tons of folk music, just about every day. I listen to many obscure folk artist's as well as the known ones. There is a folk singer named Anne Byrne from Ireland that I enjoy listening to. She had quite a few LP'S out during the 1960's. I own most of them. She had a beautiful voice,kind of like Joan Baez. Anne Byrne passed away in December 2020 in Ireland. An obscure artist from Massachusetts was a female folk singer named Dayle Stanley. She only had two albums out in the 1960's. You can hear all the songs from both albums on KZfaq. Two of my favourite songs are "Letter from the Willow Tree." and "Shenandoah." When you have time listen to her music. I'd be curious to how you like both of these singers?

Greetings from Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪1stly your geography re the whereabouts of Sligo, is slightly off. 2nd & most importantly, Sligo is NOT I repeat NOT the Birthplace of William Butler Yeats. Yeats, like all the other literary greats such as; Behan, Joyce, Shaw, Wilde, O'Casey, Synge et al, is a Dubliner. He moved to Sligo & lived there but he was born in Sandymount, Dublin in 1865. Sligo natives falsely claim him.
