Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is the most common type of anemia and a major public health problem in India. In this condition, there is a decreased number of healthy red blood cells that carry oxygen (hemoglobin) to the other parts/tissues of the body. This happens due to insufficient iron in the body.
Iron deficiency anemia is common especially among women and if left untreated ,it can lead to serious issues. According to studies, 20% of maternal deaths are directly related to anemia and another 50% are associated with it.
In this video, Dr. Meet Kumar, a hematologist talks about iron deficiency anemia in detail including the causes, symptoms, and treatments available.

Sir mere father ko 5 years se GI bleeding thi, ab wohtheek hui, magar unka hemoglobin level firse down hua, iron level bhi low hai.. Cbc main sab thk hai

Sir mera RBC , mcv, hemoglobin, yeh sab normal hai but Mera rdw badha hua hai rdw ka range 11.6 - 14 tak hona chahiye lekin mera 15.6 hai or sir mera vitamin B 12 ki kami hai toh kya humko anemia ho gaya hai kya
